Max yardage

    I have a Barnett Whitetail Hunter crossbow shoots 340fps I use a 400 grain bolt what is the max yardage I should shoot while hunting

    I'm by no means an expert, but I would say you should only shoot game within a range you can confidently group arrows in the killzone. Outside of that is irresponsible hunting.

    Something to consider is the momentum the bolt loses as it travels down range. Just because you can group arrows in 1" at 80 yards doesn't necessarily mean your arrow will retain enough energy to penetrate bone at those yardages.
