I was up in my stand yesterday morning and had a mature doe and fawn come in about 40 yards out. The Doe blew at me a couple of times then ran off in the opposite direction. Want to go back next weekend to the same spot in the hopes that I can get a good shot on her but don't know if she'll return after that little incident. What do you guys think? Any luck on having deer come back after they blow at you??

She will probably be back but make sure the wind is right before you go back there or she will just bust you again.

She will hunt you now, that is what they do.

I would either move the stand or leave it and set up another.

If she saw you then move your stand. She will look for you every time now. I'd take her out first chance I got. If it was just her smelling you, she'll be back but make sure the wind is in your favor.

That fawn may still be feeding, make sure spots are gone. That way you only take one down.

Those old does are smart. She'll be back, but on guard.

I had a doe bust me one Sat evening last year, and I hunted that same stand the following Sat evening (seven days later). She came out at the same spot and looked RIGHT at me, again! They don't forget everything.

Take her out if you want to hunt that area again. She either caught you moving or scented you to blow at you.
I have set up a new blind just 20 yards from an older set and shot deer just because they came in watching the old set.

Don't even think about the fawn. It will survive just fine on it's own.

Thanks for the tips. The fawn has no spots on her which is why I don't feel too bad about taking the doe. My setup was about 18' high but didn't have any branches or coverage to keep me hidden. There is a tree about 10 yards from where I was at originally that has good coverage but narrow shooting lane. Might think about going on that one with some good scent blocker. I forgot to mention that this is public land.

Deer don't care who owns the land. I'd try and get a little bit farther away but cover is critical. Good luck.

Last year she cam back all the time but never offered a shot. I'm ready this year, added 2 more stands. I'm going to win this chess game.
