    The only land I hunt on all year is about 13 acres, nowhere else has ample population to make it worthwhile near me and you can't hunt on "city" land. Seems like all the big bucks in the surrounding area show up somewhere around the house due to the exploding doe population on the island. We have a real population problem that nothing can be done about due to anti-hunters, about 8 deer/car collisions in a "city" of roughly 2,000 people since the new year started deer are running all over the streets and yards, yet we still are only allowed one buck tag zero doe tags. But, in that case it makes the deer hard to run off the property because they've got nowhere else to go essentially.

    I currently hunt a 13 acre piece that butts up to a forest preserve. Sounds wonderful but soon after obtaining permission, we found out that there were 4 others hunting it also. They have the "if it's brown it's down " mentality all season. Not to mention that one of the guys after a sit drove his vehicle back to his stand (and right by mine) because he forgot his binoculars. I was absolutely stunned while watching it unfold. It gets better. He then stopped his vehicle on the way out and got out to chat with us. He came over by the back of my vehicle and lit up a cigarette. I wanted to drop this guy.
