what’s up guys I currently hunt with a bear encounter bow. Beginner bow.

I am looking to buy something better. Looking into getting a Matthews Triax.

Do you think it’s worth the hype? Anyone have one?

Is it worth spending the 1000 bucks ?

    Thanks

I have one and I love it. Go shot it and see for your self. When I first shot it I was surprised how quiet and vibration free it was. Very happy with mine.

Just got one this year and it's great. When I went to my shop I shot Hoyt, Mathews, Elite, and Bowtech. Shined away from Bowtech just cause I already have a BTX-28 but the Triax was the best for me of all the others. Don't get me wrong the other companies have some great bows and it came down to the RD-WRX and Triax. I went with the Triax due to no vibration and cost difference. To me the Hoyt certainly wasn't $500 better than the Triax.

But I wouldn't settle on a bow just because of what we say here or advertising. Lots of companies make great bows and they all feel a little different to each shooter. I'd pencil in an afternoon at your local shop and shoot everything they have on the shelf. You may find one bow feels better than another and end up saving a little money in the process. Spend what you can on what feels best to you. Best of luck choosing and have fun doing it!

A lot of money for just starting out, but IF you're sure....just go and shoot a few brands and models.

Also, that is a bare bow, so you'll still need a sight, quiver, and arrow rest....all
    said and done....about $1400-$1800

Well he can always move his accessories over from his old bow and not have to buy new ones. And with the Vertix now out my guess is you can pick up a used Triax and save a few dollars. Looks like they are going for $800-$900 bare bow on eBay.

With all that said, I absolutely love my Triax. I personally believe it's going to go down as one of those bows that people talk about for years to come as "the bow I wish I never got rid of". Similar to how people talk about their Switchbacks and Z7Xtremes. There is not one thing I do not like about that bow.

You get triaxe for 700 pretty much any day of the week on AT. The mathews fan boys are dumping them right and left.

Locally they are 849 new right now - clearing out room for this years models.. just look/call around would be my suggestion... that being said if you are spending that type of cash I would make sure you shoot this years models... personally I didn’t like the string angle on the triax - seems better on this years bows... then you get the warranty too which with Mathews is stellar....

Worth is all subjective to the individual. If you have shot one, and love it and have the capital go for it.
