I went to my local archery shop to pick up a new bow today. After trying out a some Hoyt, Bowtech, Parker, Diamond bows I eventually settled on one of 2. The Mattews Heli-M and Monster. I liked the draw on both, the brace height is the same. The Monster has a higher IBO speed , but only 10 fps. The Heli-m is shorter from Axle to Axle. Overall both felt nice in hand.

Does anybody have experience shooting either or both of these bows?

if i was stuck between two i would take the shorter ata over 10fps, easier to maneuver especially if you do any ground blind hunting, just my opinion. good luck.

I just ordered the monster but I got the MR6 not 7. It's a good bit faster then the heli. I also got it in 80lbs so it'll be even faster still. Both are great bows, but I decided I don't ever want to worry about having enough KE again so went with a krazy fast bow and some nice heavy arrows.

My thought is opposite of the last post. I don't real short ATA bows or really light bows. I think they tend to move around to much on your hand while holding for the shot. There was a thread not to long ago on bow weight, so check that out, also.

I also think too much is made out of 10FPS. In a hunting shot you will NEVER recognize/notice it.

    Just my .02

You should try shooting some more brands. Nothing against Mathews, they make great bows, but I just want to make sure you've shot everything you've had available and can be confident in what you're shooting.
