Trying to tune out my new bow but I can't even really start getting deep into it until I can figure out this first issue. I am using QAD Ultra Rest LD and for some reason my arrows are fishtailing like crazy. They are new Carbon Express Blue Streaks that are the correct spine for my setup. I have gone through every single increment of vertical adjustment on the rest and rotated my nock every possible way but no matter how close I get it it still fishtails just a little. Can yall think of what could be causing this? thanks ya'll.

Could be fletching contact? Maybe I'm not really sure. Im sure someone with a little more knowledge will chime in

That's what I was thinking cause sometimes I will get perfect flight from 30 yards but more often than not It fishtails. I raised my nock point just a little to see if that helps. will test it out tomorrow to see how she does.

My initial thoughts would be rest contact. Can you lengthen the rest cord a bit?

I just got done resetting up my rest as per the instructions. I had the cord clamp just a little close to the rest on the down buss cable so I set it farther down and got it adjusted just right. Raised my nock about a 16th of an inch to give the arrow just a little nose down since it was level before. Will shoot again tomorrow and update on my findings. First time ever using a drop away instead of a WB so it's a learning experience.

I jus recently put a qad on my zxt as well, haven't noticed it fishtail too bad but havent had it out past 30 yards yet either. I'm shooting 350 maxima hunters with fusion vanes. Prolly shoot some tomorrow so I'll try and see if mine does same thing.

I'm not 100% but would be guessing it is fletch contact, possibly contacting the rest or even the bus cables. I can say when I had a QAD ultra rest I was getting fletch contact from the rest not droping early enough, so that might be something worth looking into ?

I'm using a QAD on my Chill and removed the containment arm because of contact.

Well I think I pretty much got it tuned out now, maybe just a little fine tuning left but its not fish tailing like it was. Narrowed it down to center shot issue mixed with fletching contact. Apparently an EZ centershot laser will not work on a ZXT. After walk back tuning it my center shot is actually about 1/4 inch farther left then the laser said. Kept adjusting my drop away until I got no contact and they fly like darts now. Gonna spend this weekend fine tuning it then hopefully kill a big thunder chicken next weekend. Thanks to all for the input.

Wasn't that a fun learning experience!!! If you would have taken it to the shop and just handed it to them you wouldn't be any smarter! Good work!

Live and learn! That walk back tuning has helped me a number of times too.
