You're going to trade a 2011 model bow that shoots 330 fps for a 2010 model bow that shoots 323 fps. Yes, I think you're nuts.

well i dont think 7 fps should be a factor way more to hunting than speed anyways but i do see your point it is a year older but it is brand new leftover i was just kicking it around i really like the way the Maxxis draws and shoots the Z7 has a pretty harsh draw cycle to be honest about it and basically no back wall

I would say you're not crazy if the hoyt feels superior in your hands.

Shoot what feels good. It does no good to have a bow in your hand that you are not comfortable or confident with. That speed differential is nothing and it isn't costing you anything. I wouldn't hesitate if it feels better to you.

Honestly, you're the only person I've ever heard say that the draw cycle on the Z7 Xtreme isn't smooth. I've shot quite a few bows and you'd be hard pressed to find one with a smoother draw IMO.

If you like the Hoyt better, by all means go for it. If it were me personally, I'd stick w/the Mathews.

I'm a huge Mathews fan, but like others have said - shoot the bow that you feel more comfortable with. Everybody has different preferences. There's really no "best" bow on the market. You just have to find the bow that is best for YOU.

Justin shoots the z7e just like yours, he is speaking from experience. I will add that I shoot a 2010 maxis 31 and I enjoy it. I have shot a z7e in the proshop just for feel, not fully rigged and tuned but it was decent feel. I got a steal of a deal on the maxxis so it was a no-brainer. I cant pass judgment or really a comparison but the maxxis is a nice bow, and if it feels better to you go for it.

FYI, Hoyts shoot above their rated speeds...

    I'm getting dead on 300 out of mine @ 28" 60lbs....

Never shot the Z7 couldn't speak on that part...

I'd have to disagree with that one... I shoot a Z7 Extreme Tactical and I feel that the draw cycle is really smooth and while the back wall isn't amazing, it's not bad and nothing that would make me dislike or complain about the bow
Then again, before I owned my Z7, I was shooting a Redhead Kronik haha. But I also shot many bows when looking to buy including the Hoyt Carbon Element and I liked the Z7 Extreme the most. It's all personal preference really!

I have the Hoyt Rampage XT, same exact cams, limbs strings... Riser is cast on the Rampage xt vs Machined on the CRX... Great Bow, Like I said, you'll get more than what it's rated at if you were to shoot 70lb 30" 350grn... you'd probably see in the mid to high 330's

Bow doesn't have much Let-off compared to some others I've shot, Elite specific, they have crazy let-off though...

Here's a little video of my Rampage xt...
