Had catastrophic failure today with my bow. Bear archery doesn't make my bow anymore and they said it would take 3 weeks to make my cams. This plus new string and I'm up to around $450. My local bow shop has new Z3 he will sell me for $500. Is this a decent deal? What is others opinions on the Z3?

Just go buy a brand new Halon 32-7 with all the trimmings. Hell you don't need that $1300 anyway.

I would go for it, I shot a bear lights out for years and thought it was a nice bow until I picked up a 2013 Matthews Z7 Magnum. Big difference, 500 dollars isn't a bad price, will you use the same accessories you have on the bow now ?

Ha, no. I have an old one, it's a vintage 2003 Hoyt something or other. It was a great little bow but it needs new strings and a tune. It would make someone a great bow but it hasn't been shot in years.

Won't cost anything to go shoot it and see how it feels to you.

I've got a 2016 Z2, both bows were released at the same time. The Z2 has more of a machined riser like the Z7 and weighs a little less than the Z3, same cams etc. Buy the Z3 and you'll be happy. Great bow, smooth draw and dead in the hand. $500 is a pretty good price.

But.... You will have to change your screen name :)

I've never shot the Z3 but I'm sure it would get the job done.
