I'm confused on this one.Yes,the machine time is higher than normal so naturally,a little higher cost is in order.Maybe there is something that I/we are missing. It is a small run as most don't buy high poundage bows like the Safari editions provide so that also yields higher cost.

I understand Hoyt's extra cost of the Matrix, atleast it is something that had never been done(no,other carbon bows are not even close to the same)New technology coupled with limited run and this drives cost up.

Mathews did the exact same thing when Hoyt came out with their Elite series and had an msrp of $1200. The next year they had a bow that exceeded that.

I like the looks of the honeycomb shape better than the waffle iron look.:tu:

Ok ill bite. why would a company tool up to produce a bow that will only sell a handfull of bows.. kind of like a certain carbon bow that is sitting on shelves
around my area.and sitting and sitting

these people are going to price themselves out of a ever shrinking market.
    anyone want to buy a z7 black 30/70 ?

We have a shop in our area that has sold 17, with 7 being left handed.

But as I have seen elsewhere, this safari bow kinda looks more like a collectors edition with the exotic wood side plates and such.It really isn't geared toward the "average" hunter. It is geared toward the exotic hunter that hunts rhinos and elephants and the like. Those guys typically have a little more to spend and like this kind of stuff so if they like it/want it and are willing to pay for it,more power to them.

My last Mathews was the original Switchback. I haven't upgraded since and don't plan on it for awhile.

I will say, Mathews better find a sexier design then the honeycomb crap they have now or I'll be buying an Elite next.
