I agree Justin and Todd are great guys who run a great business and forum. Not sure what issue your friend had with another in the forums (are you referencing MeanV?) Todd does shell out the cash for these forums and I thank him. (love it here) That's why I would take issue with someone "using" these forums to promote their e-commerce site. That's wrong. I hadn't seen Mean V do it, that's all I am saying. I have seen him answer questions about his STS, which is cool in my book as it's not in complete direct competition with BH.com. I agree the forums CAN be a great way to promote a product when done legally and ethically. On Bowtech, couldn't say, but I wouldn't compare MeanV to Bowtech. IMO, MeanV is mostly a distributor and Bowtech is a manufacturer.
IMO, the answer that Dan would give is the same as what my reasoning would be if I was in his place. If there was a product that I thought was the best, I would go after it to get it in my store to sell it. He's an independent dealer, therefore, he doesn't have to "wish" he could sell something, he usually can if he want's to.
The same as if some cool product, we'll use the BloodRunner for an example, comes out. Shop A tries and likes the product so they stock it, recommend it, and sell it. I guess I could call Shop A a pimp or partial to it and would be true, but would it be a viewed as a bad thing?
RW ... show me where Dan does this? If he recommends what he sells, and he sells what he likes ... am I missing something? Where does Dan push his products to be the ultimate?
That's been the root of what I have been saying, I don't see him doing this. He does state his opinion, but not any more than anyone else on this forum, less IMO. Peace for now boys, got to run.
I wish it wasn't the last day of a shotgun CWD hunt here in Illinois, I would love to be freezing my butt off instead of debating about Dan. I am done, I have my opinions and many of you have yours I don't know Dan personally as many of you do, I only speak of a few experiences and differences I have had with Dan in these forums. I am happy he has been an asset to many of you for your bowhunting needs. We all have our opinions and I am glad we could debate it but this thread got lost and hijacked way to long ago, apologies to the guy looking for an honest answer and finding this mess.
It's pretty simple really. Let's just take Broadheads for example. I deal in NAP, Rocky Mountain, Slick Trick, Satellite, Muzzy, Magnus, G5, Wasp, Swhacker, Rocket, and even Rage. If someone asks what Broadhead I think is best then I say Slick Trick. Because based on my personal experience from 40 years BowHunting and the Feedback I get from customers using several brands of broadheads I think ST's are the best. I can and do deal in many items I do Not recommend but if someone wants that item I will sell it to them. There was an elderly gentleman that ran a pro shop back in the late 60's when I first became involved in Archery. Everytime I stopped in to buy something (pretty much weekly) he would always make his suggestions. Sometimes I listened, sometimes I wish I had! I'm sure in the long run he saved me several $$ by steering me past some junk, even though he had it to sell. I always considered him a friend and enjoyed spending many afternoons talking to him before he passed away. I guess I am not supposed to have an opinion on products because I am a dealer, and/or because I am on BowTech's Corporate Staff. I thought these boards were for voicing your opinion. Maybe I'm wrong? I harbor No hard feelings against anyone because of their choice in equipment, but I must admit it gets old when people constantly attack you because you have one and are not afraid to voice it. Hope everyone had a Great season!! I'm already looking forward to 2010's Bow seasons!! I am glad some of you guys do seem to get it. :-) Dan
That is what I always have thought, but being I don't shoot a trad bow I never wanted to comment on them. I have always thought a trad bow is a better "deer" killing bow for hunting situations. Felt a compound is a better shooting bow for targets. Thank you
Germ, One of the Best Trad shooters/hunters I ever knew made the statement: "Shooting a recurve is like throwing rocks. You throw enough of them and you get pretty good" I always felt like that was fairly accurate ;-) Dan
Are you working with B&B? They just opened a new shop outside the front gate of Quantico (might have known). If not - would love to know of more archery shops in our area...they were great, just nice to have options! Sean
I have a Rytera dealer about an hour away. Thinking of trying one of the Alien variations out, and if I buy one I can piss every Hoyt, Mathews, PSE, and Bowtech fanboy off just for fun.............LMAO.
ok back to the monster, is the 65 letoff option use the same cam or will the cam need to be special ordered.
Okay, that's what I figured...if a company stands behind their product then I can confidently use their bows. I must say, the Diamond I shot was nice...Black Ice or something I think.
That's a GREAT analogy. Wonder how many rocks you'd have to throw to be able to hit a 5" circle 20 out of 20 times? I love it.
I checked the website and got the impression that it was 80% or nothing? I will ask my dealer if I get up there this week.
thanks, i have the new cat, and the monster 7.0 shows 65 or 80 % the reg monster @ 80 %only the xlr8 @ 65or 80 % so i thought someone here would now if it was a total cam change or just module change,
