Jeff, I hardly get anything Free. You know how much I spent in Gas last year going to Bloomington, IL. Indianapolis, IN. and Bristol, TN? You're a smart man figure it up. Then figure my wages for 10 days. We won't even count wear and tear on my Truck.

You think I got anything Free? LMAO!!

I shoot what I chose to shoot, and right now that's BowTech. I could shoot Hoyt, Mathews, or PSE and it would cost me less.

racewayking, I also see you bash BowTech every chance you get, but that's fine that's your opinion. As far as the General was concerned the failures were less than 2%, but because of the nature of the failures BowTech stepped up to the plate and made it right. Kudos to BowTech!!

You will find most General owners are very pleased with the Bow. I have a friend that shoots one and he wouldn't let me change the limbs until he was through hunting this year, against my advice. He Loves the Bow, and I'm glad he does :-)

Do you mean difference between trad and wheelie or feel between the Monster and the Hoyts?

I know exactly what you get from Bowtech. You get 2-3 new bows FREE....and you get up to 10 at below dealer cost.

What you spend to get to trade shows is between you and your wife. I stated what you get from the company. I love the recurve I'm shooting. But I wouldn't drive across town to hawk my bowyer's wares, if there wasn't something in it for me. And, neither would anyone else.

And, if I ever see him come into an oline hunting forum and talk to his customers the way you do bowtechs.....I'll never send another dime his way.

Rob....Yeah...lol. I know ya! Looking forward to ATAR. See you, there.

Wow, that's hard to answer. They are two completely different disciplines. I find shooting compound MUCH harder. There is WAY too much to think about in making a good shot. You have to have the bow square, your draw and sight alignment must be perfect, judging distance is more critical, arrow weight is more important.

With traditional (for me anyway) it's more of a flowing movement like throwing a ball. You look at what you want to hit, concentrate on a spot (not a sight), draw, hit anchor and release. I've killed deer drawing half way holding my bow horizontal. Arrow weight is of course important but the variables are almost endless. You may choose to shoot wood, aluminum or carbon. Judging distance is also important of course but in traditional you're not going to shoot past 30 yards unless you're unusually good.

Here's a video of part of a contest we had on Tradgang.com. I couldn't do this with a compound. The contest was called the candlestick challenge. The object of the exercise was to snuff a candle flame without hitting the candle...at night in the dark.

Amazing how you miss all the bantering Dan. I didn't start ribbing Bowtech until a few Bowtech Owners gave me crap about shooting a Hoyt. To be honest Dan, I would be shooting a Bowtech but I liked my Hoyt a tad bit more. My last bow was supposed to be a Guardian but the shop stuck a Katera in my hand and I liked it more.

Kudos to Bowtech for stepping up? I would expect any company with a 2% limb exploding rate to address the issue before more people got hurt or possibly killed. What was sad is that Corporate Advisory Staff members were calling BS on the issue instead of admitting there might be a problem and advising Bowtech would make good on it.

At the end of the day I have nothing to hide Dan, I am not the one using these forums to promote an e-commerce venture like yourself;)

I'm new here so I don't mean this in any other way than just being a curious consumer...Bowtech had issues with exploding bows?
I ask because I was looking into a Diamond and I know Bowtech makes those.

Sorry to fan any flames, I just want to know what the deal is.

racewayking, or anyone else for that matter, when was the last time that Dan promoted or solicited any one on either of the forums (HNI or here) to buy his products? Most times his name gets brought up by a customer and he provides answers to questions asked regarding his products. I don't think I have ever heard him mention the fact that he sells much more than his STS products and offers some really good pricing on Vaportrail, Slick Trick, etc. I'd hardly call him out for "using" the forums for his own gain. Just my opinion, but I don't see it.

It wasn't any of the Diamond line. There were some of the Bowtech Generals having limb issues, but the issue was corrected and new limbs were sent out to the remaining customers who might have an issue.

Every company has an issue from time to time with their products, Bowtech made right on theirs and showed that they stand behind their product. Don't let it sway your opinion of the company, should you have an issue they will stand behind their product and they have a great network of staff shooters on multiple sites to answer questions.

I stand by my statement. The man appears to have done quite well by using these forums to distribute products from what I see. He has made good comments about some products he doesn't carry; however, he always seems to carry the products he deems best;)

I have the same bias with Cell Phone companies for obvious reasons, but I'm not on here selling phones;)

If you were a business owner, would you do something different?

Are cell phones your main hobby?

He has done well, but I really (my opinion) don't think HNI or BH.com has made him. I think you (and I) would be surprised at what percentage of his business is brought from these forums. (I am guessing)

    You including the internet?

Hell's he's got a "staff" of internet salesmen. I don't begrudge him that. I don't discount the fact, either.

I think the percentage in question is HNI and BH.com forums only. No kidding he get's business off the internet. rwk's claim was off of these forums.

Ben, if I need anything my first call will go to Justin;) I know Justin and Todd will make right if anything goes wrong, unlike an issue a friend of mine in these forums had with another highly recommended guy. Todd and Justin also shell out some decent cash providing us with forums and bow shoots.

Saying HNI or BH.com has not made him is a ridiculous statement. Sure he was featured in magazines, but these forums are a phenomenal way to promote business for free. How much business would you say Bowtech has gotten by having its internet mafia pushing their products?

Cell Phones are not a hobby, I work in the industry.
