Need some help making up my mind.
I currently own a HTX I got it at a good price, it was kind of an impulse buy to finally replace my Z7 I had to sell :( . I don't know if Mathews is brain washing me with there adds or the fact that all I see is Halons... What does the Halon have the HTX does not other than speed?

    Thanks.

Both are very smooth drawing bows, The Halon is a little heavier than the HTX. Speed is the biggest difference. You can compare them both on their webpage. Bows and Archery Accessories by Mathews

Ok quite honestly this breaks down to a want or need situation. If you target shoot or hunt whitetails the HTX will be just fine for you. Speed really is the separator between the two for the most part. If you need more momentum for a larger game animal you can always add weight to your arrow. So my advice is this. If you really want it and can comfortably pay for it with out cause any pain, especially this time of the year, then go for it. Doe that make sense?

However I am a true believer in feel of a bow. Go shoot a HALON and take your HTX. Shoot them both and see which one just feels right. Good luck.

Good advice... I've shot both, I liked both, I got the HTX at a good price. I have just thinking about the Halon recently, I do like the the fact the HTX is lighter. I already shoot a heavier arrow and the rig has already proved itself... I just needed some sense talked into me lol.
I think it might be because I miss my Z7. Damn Divorce (But it was worth it)

Okay furthering my response I was torn between the two aswell and I obviously picked the HTX why ? It draws so smooth and shoots amazing don't get me wrong the halon does aswell but was a little harsh on my shoulders due to a wrestling injury my senior year of highschool and I'm 20. I've been in this industry a while and I wouldn't trade my HTX for the halon due to the fact that it is so dead quiet and accurate!! Hope this helps

I love my htx I shot it and the Halon before I bought the htx. The no cam is just so smooth and so quiet I really don't care that much about it being 20 feet per second slower. The IBO is 326 and with my set up I still get 300 feet per second out of it.

The Halon is not actually 20 fps faster than the HTX. The HTX is only available up to a 29 inch draw length. The 326 fps rating is 70 pounds, a 350 grain arrow at 29 inch draw length. The Halon is pound for pound 10 fps faster than the HTX.

I bought both last year, I sold the HTX and kept the Halon. Afterward, I wished I had kept the HTX. Although the Halon treated me well.
