I recently upgraded my Mathews fx that I've had for 8 years for a new helium. Great bow and shoots good. I put my rest and sight of my old bow on the new one. My question is on my fx my sight( basic truglow 4 pin) the pins were all easily visible. Now on the helium at full draw the middle bow cable sits right next to my pins. I've noticed if I don't hold the bow perfectly level this cable almost blocks my sight of the pins completely. Level, it's usually 1/4- 3/8 off to right of my top pin. Is this normal and something I have to get used too or something wrong? I just got this bow and just starting sighting it in today. My archery place where I purchased from is closed until Tuesday do I was checking if I could get any answers on here. Thanks
I have the Heli'm as well. I have not had this issue. Everything is set up correctly? Could it be an issue with your anchor point?
Something isn't right at all. Is your rest at centershot? Post up some pics if you can. Could it be that you're putting a torque on the bow?
It kinda seems like you'd have to be shooting a right handed bow as a lefty for the cable to get in the way.
I think the rest is center. I will try to take a pic in a while for a better idea. I'm not sure if the cable guide rod is movable? Is there a possibility of my peep sight being to high or low having a affect on it at all? Only reason I ask the guy just pretty much put it quick when I picked up the bow.
Try this: Draw the bow back with your eyes closed. When you open your eyes look at the pins in your sight. If your peep sight is not already in line with your eye and your sight when you open your eye, have someone put a piece of tape at the point where the bow string lines up with your eye and your sight.
I posted above picture and drew where the cable sits and full draw. Rampaige, I did what you said about peep and it was a lilttle high. I lowered, however still having same issue with cable. Unless this is normal and I just need to adjust?
I think that your peep isn't the issue. Hard to really tell from that camera angle but it looks like both your rest and your sight need to be moved left. It looks like they are both way right up against the riser.
Your center flight is way off right now. Have the rest redone then adjust your sight again Sent from my LG-E739 using Tapatalk 2
Is the black rod that attaches the rollers to the bow cable suppose to be straight? Not the end that angles off with rollers the actual rod. I notice mine is is really crooked/bent to the left? Or is this normal?
If the first pic is from directly behind and not at an angle, your centershot is way too far in.This is causing your sight to be way too far in as well. A simple way to set centershot is to french tune. Draw a plumb line on your target with a carpenter level. Shoot at line from a couple feet away and adjust sight so arrow hits line. Back up to 30 yards(20 if more comfortable) and shoot at line. Move REST to bring arrow to line.(I bet you will be right of line) Repeat process back and forth until you hit line at both distances.
From that picture it looks like it is way left of where it should be. Not sure if it is actually bent or the hole was misdrilled. Going to my shop this week and will take a look at one to compare.
The roller guide is off. But your center flight us wrong too. Take that thing back to the shop were you bought it and have them warranty it Sent from my LG-E739 using Tapatalk 2
Hmm i thougth mathews was quality definately looks like they have a problem in the quality inspection line before shipping from factory..
Think it's crap to say the entire company has a problem because of one incident. If you judge every company like that you won't ever get to do business with anyone. It is also hard to tell from the picture if the hole was misdrilled or the bar is bent. Could very easlily be either of those scenerios. If it is a bent bar that could easily be shipping or the archery shop and not Mathews. If you are going to judge Mathews by this one incident it should be by how they handle the situation once they become aware of it. I have no doubt they will make it right pretty quick.
I still think the roller guide is way off...maybe oriented for a left-handed bow and needs to be switched 180? As for the rest and sights....you can't be sure because you can't determine the alignment from just the photo. Have the bow shop fix you up...Any other owners of this same bow have a photo from the same perspective for comparison?
