Im looking at a mathews dxt. The guy says its set at 70 lbs. I am almost certain i cant draw that so was hoping it can be turned down. Is the possbile for this bow. Another question is how smooth are the draws compared to say a normal cam Parker bow. I have mine set at around 50 lbs, but people say 50 to them is like 60 to a solo cam. Any advice is helpful thank you.
50 is like 50 on any bow, cause if it's 50 then at some point in the draw cycle, it's like 50. If it's set at 70, then you could safely assume that you could dial it down to 58 or 59. Max your Parker out at 60 and see if you can comfortably pull it, if so, then you could handle the low end of the Mathews that you are looking at.
Good advice from Ben. The DXT is a great bow, one of my good buddies shoots one. I have yet to pull a two cam back that is as smooth as my Solo Cam.
Ben, I'm going to have to disagree to some degree. Some bows draw cycle feels much more or much less than the actual draw weight. I know my Shark X with Hybrids on 62lbs feels a lot stiffer than 62lbs when I had a single cam on there. I'm fortunate to be able to draw and shoot MANY different bows and bows percieved draw weight will vary with how aggressive the draw cycle is. I will say with the exception of the Reezen and of course the Monster, Mathews are right up there with the easiest bows to draw on the planet and I don't even shoot a Mathews.
