love mine. I can really shoot up to about 40 yards very accurately with it with very little rise and fall at all. Really pretty fast. I love that is so quiet and vibration free that it is crazy. The fact that it is light and small, easy to manuver is a big plus also.

I shot a lot of bows before I bought mine. I wanted a hunting bow first and foremost, but then something I can play with and target type shoot. It's short, it's fast, it's smooth, the release is like butter. Not only that but the company stands behind their product, and if I have a question, I get a response in less than 24 hours.

Matthews puts forth great products first and foremost. When I was in the market for a new bow this past January/February I looked at all the brands and came down to a PSE (can't remember model), Mission Venture or Voyager, a used Matthews Switchback, and the Matthews Z7 Extreme.

They all shot great...the Switchback was ruled out because I felt purchasing a new bow would mean better warranty service and such obviously. The PSE was then ruled out because my primary local bow shop didn't carry them and I'm all about supporting local businesses.

So down between the Extreme and a Mission Venture. Shot both and honestly the difference to me wasn't nearly close the price difference. Both are backed by the same people, both shoot plenty fast enough, almost identical in quietness (the Extreme did have slightly less vibration..but barely)....I just simply couldn't justify buying the Z7 Extreme when I felt I got atleast 90% of the same capabilities in the Venture!

Can't go wrong with it for sure...however if money is a deciding point don't hesitate to look at Mission bows, same company, same great customer service as well.

I love mine! One of the smoothest-drawing bows I've ever owned. I've already shot one doe with it this fall, and hoping to shoot a few more before it's all said and done.

I shoot an SQ2 and yes it is an older bow. But has been updated with alot of the products that come on the Z7. String stop, updated balancers, new string, n all. And IMO I know for a fact that my bow is lighter by a little, and just as short. And im not gonna say it shoots better but it gets the job done. AND I had a seized bolt on my riser, called Mathews and its warrantied for the life of the bow. So it was sent in and shipped back within a months time. Surprised at this! But the Missions are also great bows for the buck!

I bought one a few months ago (Z7 Extreme) and I really enjoy shooting mine. It is the first and only bow I have ever shot. I felt better about the purchase when I heard people talk about what a good bow it is. I would have bought a Mission but the bow shop didn’t have one to fit, and I didn’t want to wait, so I got the Matthews and I am glad I did.

Another reason I like mine is the way it looks. Mathews along with Bear make the most impressive looking bows in my opinion. Some of the other bows just don’t look as good to me. Take the Hoyt Carbon Element, to me it looks like somebody took some tree limbs and twisted them together and made a bow. I know if I ever shot one and it shot as good as or better than my Extreme it would look a lot prettier real fast. It is like when I was in High School I dated a girl that I thought was very plain looking and I thought it would be our first and only date. After the movies I found out what a good kisser she was. We ended up dating for a loooong time.

Love the z7extreme. Very smooth. Had the Legacy and Switchback XT. Big improvement over the Legacy. Small improvement over the Switchback. Overall a very good shooting package.
