I work in Sharon and we got 7" of snow tonight but it's supposed to turn to rain and all the snow will be gone! :0( I can't get out until Friday either.

Great morning hunt today had a doe come in at 7:30 and hung around for 20 mins. Then saw a huge buck about 100 yards out moving through the brush moving away from me then saw 2 more does. But I saw rubs scrapes and tracks everywhere. Rut is definitely on deer were traveling today. Hope the same thing going on this afternoon.

Well I have been seeing some more rut action lately. Saturday I watched a buck chase two does down the ridge in front of me. Monday evening I had a nice 8 point trot through. He got within 30 yards, but I didn't have a shot. He definitely looked like he was on a mission. Tonight I heard something crashing around in the woods right as it was getting dark. I tried a doe bleat and a huge buck came right in, but it was a little too dark and he winded me pretty quick. All in all it's been a great season so far and hopefully I can put something on the ground soon. Good luck everybody!

Got my first bowkill today!! 7:30 am a 3 pointer came feeding in on me. Gave me enough time to stand up and clip on. All of a sudden he stopped feeding and started walking right down one of the runs i watch. Drew back, he took a few steps then i grunted at him and he stopped. Put the pin on and let her fly. 10 yard shot. Ran about 80 yards and piled up. Could not be any happier. I have spent so much time and effort on getting one with the bow these last few years. This was was 14th deer i've seen in Mass this year. The first one within bow range though and the first confirmed buck. 20121114_084953.jpg 20121114_103302.jpg

Is the rut still going on in mass??? just got back from Maine and it was crazy before I left. Right before shooting light was up had a buck chasing 3 does all around my stand never saw how big he was the lighting sucked. Saw a total of 2 bucks and 6 does in a morning sit and afternoon sit pretty crazy.

Last few days before the shotgun season opens good luck and happy thanksgiving.

One quick question how come that deer is hanging from its head and not the other way? I always hang them from there back legs.

Oh yeah I totally forgot about ya Bob! A buddy had to go to HealthTrax in Warwick and I mentioned we should find a place to hunt since he's driving out that way. So for some reason Mansfield came to mind. Talked to some locals and an officer at the PD and they pointed us in the right direction. It was fun, he let a 4 pt walk and I didn't see anything. We might be going back out there on Saturday so we'll most likely get an evening sit in.

Cool, some day you'll have to tell me where you went. I hunt around Walpole. Got a nine point last week. Saw a spike and a six this morning but no shot.
    Good luck!

Saw this giant bedded down with a doe while walking with the family today. He was laying less than 20 yards from me! The dog started barking, but they both just got up and slowly walked away. Happy Thanksgiving!
