During the early season, what do you prefer...mask or face paint? In the past I have used a mask, but I am considering paint this year due to the fact that I sweat very easy and I want to let my head breathe as much as possible.

Is there any negatives to using paint?

BTW....if you have any pics of you in paint, post em up.

No clue, I am usually peering out from behind my bow never had a problem being spotted. I would use paint for the cool factor but as mentioned above I don't want a red raw face from removing it.

I'm not positive, but I believe I've seen stick on face camo a lot like the new eye black stickers ball players wear.

Here it is... If I'm in for an all day deal as in elk or mule deer hunting, I'm painted up. If not, I'm usually wearing a mask :D

I used Bear face paint for years, then one day when I was putting it on,

I realized I could smell a faint greasey scent. Well if I can smell it ......

I use a face mask now.

I've used burnt cork, I'm not sure if the smell of the charcoal is offensive to deer. I hate face paint, I tend to break out in a rash from it.

I use the cheap black paint you get in the halloween dept. $1 a tube. Stays on but washes off easily. To the extent of my sniffer capabilities(not the best) it doesn't smell.

I wear a mask just so the mosquitoes won't get me.

I bought some face paint the other day. I am gonna go all Braveheart the first day, just for kicks more than anything. I am gonna wake up before all the other idiots at the cabin and get my lighting bolt thing on, then wake their asses up for breakfast. It's actually interesting that you brought this up. I am and will be a facemask hunter for the majority of the season, but I am looking forward to the terrified faces of some of my buddies.

I use a mask. I like the spandoflague type....stays tight to my face, keeps me warm when it gets cold. Haven't used paint since I was young.

I was thinking about this last week. I decided that I'm just going to use my water bottle to make a little mud and use that as face paint. We'll see how it works.

I use paint. I get the military type ( local army surplus store) that is in a tube...one end is olive green and the other end is black. It is a paint stick. I have not had any problems washing it off in the shower with soap. It also holds up really good to sweat. I just don't like the feel of the mask at full draw and my fletching usually makes a scratching sound when it rubs across it. If I'm not using a thermacell and the skeeters are really bad I will sometimes use a mask till it's time to draw and then just pull it down to my neck.

i used face paint for years in the army... I'll never use it again unless it is required by my job... this stuff is a nightmare to take off, but, if you insist on using it, believe it or not, one of the best things to use to remove it is bug juice... the military grade bug repellent... it literally melts the stuff away... also happens to be the best way to put the stuff on... pour some bug juice in your hand and rub the end of it in the bug juice... you got bug repellent and east to apply camo...

another thing, if you even remotely have a problem getting pimples and stuff face paint will ruin you...

I use a full head cover with carbon. Not much problem with bug where i hunt. And when I have problems with flying bugs I use a thermacell.

    That made me laugh. Nice!

If it is going to be something that is really hard to remove, I dont think I want to get into it. If I harvest a deer, I dont want to be all painted up for pictures and taking him to the check in station. But if I am able to find some that is easy to remove with a little water, I think I will go for it. But only during the warm weather sits.

Don't worry about what the clowns in town will think about how you look if you use face paint. Roll however you want and screw everyone else!

I have never wore paint before... Maybe I will just get a lil crazy and try it this year myself! :p
