i shoot a martain wild cat which idk if they still make that model any more. ive had it for about five years now and i really cant complain. ive shot many deer with it so it deffinately does the job. The draw cycles are fairly smooth and forward weighted which is the smoothest IMO. the only problem i have with them is that my bow wont hold a very tight group after about 30 yards. Could just be me and im sure that the newer bows are alot farther along than the model i have now but thats my only complaint. over all if you are looking for an affordable bow that gets the job done get one. but if you are looking for a little more out of your bow just spend the money and get something nice.
I have a Martin Cougar Magnum. It's 25 years old and it's my hunting bow. I use one pin out to thirty yards and aim a couple inches high for 40. It's and awesome bow. Martin makes a quality product!
Martin Desciple I shoot a 2008 Martin Cheetah that I bought used off ebay in 2009 after checking a couple out at local bow shops (budget limited me to used stuff). The first time I picked one up I felt that, "oh yeah!" connection. I shoot almost daily and fling probably 6-8000 arrows a year. I use it for 3D and hunting and have never been sorry. I replaced the string and cables last summer and also had the idler (top) wheel snap during an IBO shoot. Martin replaced it no questions asked and I was back on the range a few days later. At my house we have 5 shooters with a Martin, a Hoyt, 2 Diamonds and a PSE. All quality bows but I like my Martin best. I was also introducing a buddy to archery and he was using a borrowed Diamond Outlaw. I offered to let him shoot my Cheetah and the moment he held it he smiled real big and said, "oh yeah!". Shoot every bow you can, ignore the marketing hype and buy the one that 'fits' you best - you'll know when you shoot it. If that bow is a Martin you won't be sorry. Who knows - maybe if you do Laura Francese fill drop by and cook you breakfast?
