I am currently looking at buying a new bow. I have shot reflex, pse, and bowtech. I was looking at the new martin firecat. It looks like a good bow for the price. I've noticed that not many people on the forums shoot martin. Just wondered if i could get some other opinions. looking at spending between 500 and 600 dollars cdn on the bow alone. Hoyt, mathews are out of the question. I look forward to seeing what other people think.

If Mathews is out of your range but you still like them, you can look at the Mission line of bows. Basically a Mathews w/o the bells and whistles.

I have a co-worker actually looking to buy a Martin Firecat. My proshop guy told me that he, through my recommendation, is the 2nd person to request a Marting in 5 yrs. Not many of them sold in my area. But the guy I work with has shot mathews and BOWTECH, but still prefers the Martin. If he gets it, I'll let you in on his thoughts.

I have shot Martin for the last 15 years and never had a problem with them at all. I currently shoot the Martin Cheetah. You can pick up a 2008 model out the door very reasonable...

I shoot a Martin. It is my first bow. I bought it after a ton of research, the Martin won for two reasons. It was the most cost effective lower end package you could buy that was still made by a reputable manufacturer, well other than the bargain basement stuff by PSE but you get NO bells and whistles with that stuff. Secondly my bow has a 15lb draw adjustment instead of 10, which was big because it let me start low and increase as I got more comfortable.

I like my bow but if I had known how much I would LOVE to bow hunt I would have spent more. I will probably trade it off when the weather gets better.

Martin makes a very good bow, they've been around a very long time.

I've heard nothing but good things about Martin's. I love the shoot-through system they have available as well. They have quite the following over on AT.
