A lot of people mark their arrows 1-4, for example, on the fletch. I do it on the cock fletch. I use a ballpoint pen. Sometimes #1 & #3 may change order for whatever reason. My question is how do you remove the ballpoint ink? I've tried WD-40, denatured alcohol, acetone & mineral spirits. What do you mark yours with so this isn't an issue?

I use a propane torch to burn it off.

I don't break up with my #1 arrow part way through the season... break ups are messy

another option that you could - don't number your arrows, name them
    Fred
    Uncle Ted
    Zarr
    Mark D.
    Terry D.
    Todd Giraffe

Then you just have to remember who you're taking to the dance when you get to your tree.

I've never marked my arrows, They're just divided up by which ones have Slick Tricks and which ones have Stingers on them.

Holt's suggestion of X-ing out the number might be your best bet.
