    Hello all,
I am new to bowhunting.com and I thoroughly impressed with everything on here so far. I am a Marine and was just recently assigned to Eastern North Carolina. I am new to the area and I am looking for anywhere to bow hunt or any advice. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks is advance,
    Joshua

Hey man I am also at Lejeune, who are you with? Key to Lejeune is hitting the gun areas during bow season, because everyone floods the bow areas on opening day.

Ha. I was stationed there for 5 years. bow hunted every year. key is to work some areas very well as I have shot and know where some bruisers are. I am stationed up in chesapeake va now. Nice bow areas here as well. still getting used to them. ill attach some pics of some I have yet to tag down there. And heres two that I did tag that are decent. 9pt.jpg 100_2519.jpg deer 1.jpg deer 2.jpg

That turkey as my profile pic was shot on the first big plot in ff. he had an 11 inch beard and 1.5 inch spurs. lots of goof hunting on that base.

    Joshua,
I'm PCSing there in a week and am in the same boat. Originally from alabama. No clue where to start on base but imagine it'll be good.

If you are going to use trail cameras out there I would lock them up. I had one stolen last year from me.

I hear great things about the bow hunting on Camp Lejeune. I hoping the Navy will work with me and let me come play doc for a few years there!

I have a picture of a 9 and a 10 on Lejuene that were both decent deer last year and I know no one killed them, so they should be good deer this year.

Thanks for all the great info. I have been out doing a little scouting. I've seen lots of sign and an abundance of does. I've seen a few young bucks but I know there's some big ones in there to. I'm up on Cherry Point so I plan on focusing primarily there. I also plan to hunt down at Boque MCALF a little also. Depending on how it goes I may head down to Lejeune as well. I haven't scouted the Croatan yet but I want to check it out as well. I'm ready to hit the woods just a little over a month to go.

    Happy Hunting!

Its pretty difficult since all the farmers want between 5-15k a year for a private lease, and public land is so far away. I really only have one place i have found i like to hunt. We did some scouting earlier today and seen 2 shooter bucks but they'll have so much pressure after the first week they'll be unkillable in daylight until the rut.
