Am I the only one thinking the SEC got kind of screwed this year? Highest seed as an 8? Heck if I was UT or LSU, I would have rather had Miss ST seeding of 13, atleast you dont have a 1 next round.

I also think Arizona got a gift from above getting their bid, they just didn't perform this year, regardless of how good they are.

South Carolina got kinda screwed I thought, they were pretty dang good.

Louisville is the team to beat I think....I don't see anyone holding up with their press, Pitino always puts together a team that is money from behind the arc and will run you to death.

I think I am going with LSU over UNC as my huge upset. If they show up to play, they are TOUGH....just streaky.

Also, the Illini better watch out, cause WKU is going to pull out that 12-5 upset. Not because thats where I go, because WKU has some solid guard work...Heck, they even beat Louisville this year.

WKU showed who they were last year. They're getting out of the first round IMO. I was pissed all afternoon cause the Vols lost. They should have one that SEC tourney:rant:

I agree with a lot of what you said except about Louisville. They are good, but they got dealt an easier big east schedule and didn't have to play Pitt or Uconn in the Big East tourney either.
I am obviously rooting for Pitt, but I do know they have weaknesses.

I don't have the brackets in front of me to make any solid predictions, but UConn, Pitt, Oklahoma, memphis & mich st all have potential to make a real go at it. I am hoping UNC loses early, but they probably wont.

UT was killing me yesterday. I can't believe they couldn't take down Miss St! This wasn't a good year for the SEC.

Vernado has more blocks by himself than 325 D1 teams, I thought that was insane! MS St was semi underrated...they coasted as the 2 seed in the west all year until Auburn got hot at the end and passed them.

The SEC was pretty young this year....but still deserved more respect than what they got. The Big 10 deserving 7 bids? Pshhh. LSU and UT got screwed with their 8/9 seeds, I would rather have MS STs 13 seed playing Washington, atleast you don't have a one seed the next round. The SEC took a shot this year, and the way they are seeded, it is virtually impossible for them to prove themselves afterall.

Tennessee has terrible work ethic IMO. When they get down, they are done for; and they can't defend a decent high school team. I was under impressed with their talent this year, because they have some GREAT players. But not much can be said, because there you have my team the Cats, with the third leading scorer in the NCAA and one of the most dominant post men in the entire league, and we can't even earn a bid into the tournament. Pathetic. I know fans always preach of next year, but if Meeks and Patterson stay next year and Orton and the Mr Basketball point guard sign like they are supposed to, the SEC better watch out for KY next year. If Gillespie can't win with next years roster, he can't win at all.

Really...Am I the only one that just don't get it? I like watching some ball now and then...but I don't have the time to follow sports like you guys do. Where do you find the time?

    Vernado is sick!! :hail:

I agree UT has HORRIBLE work ethic this year!! I actually think they were lucky to get a bid at all. The Ladies have struggled too...its just been a bad sports year for my Vols all around. :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

UT got good news for the football team today though. Bryce Brown (Rivals #1 recruit) coming to the Vols!

You just do  . I think UNC is in big trouble. I don't see them going very far without Lawson. UConn has no chance either. Louisvile.. like someone said they walked through the Big East not having to play Pitt or Uconn and suddenely they are the greatest team in the land. Not buying them yet either. Pitt would be the the one #1 team that has the makeup to get to the finals. They have a big man in Blair, good guard play, good transition, and good defensively. I think the big physical dude down low can carry them to the finals.

Others to watch for Wake Forest (#1 for a long time early in the season), Oklahoma,Memphis (is going to final four) Texas, Florida St., Syracuse

    Should be fun.

You say UConn has no chance and yet you put Syracuse as a team to watch. After that 6 OT game I'd say they match up pretty evenly. I think UConn does have a chance to go all the way. It really depends on who gets taken out of thier way though. They can't beat Pitt if they should have to face them. I see UConn beating Memphis in the round of 8.

If, and it seems as though its a big IF, Lawson is healthy UNC is going to be a tough out. The Hansbrough-Griffin match up would be all too fun to watch, but since Griffin's concussion OU just hasn't been the same (And, with their coach maybe heading to hoo ville they could have some off-the-court distractions). I think Clemson is a very dangerous game for OU in the second half, we've seen what they can do when clicking when they beat Duke by 27 earlier in the year.

It's a shame Duke drew the same bracket as VCU! That'd be a fun match up to watch but with Villanova essentially playing home games i don't see it happening. I think Pitt will take this bracket. Hopefully FSU will win 2 games because the Blair-Alabi match up would be a fun one.

I'm hoping to see a L'ville-Wake matchup in the Midwest bracket, talk about a game that could get into the 90s! Even though Arizona did barely make it in, they are talented and can play with anyone in the country on a given night so I wouldn't be surprised to see them win a game or 2. I hope they go out in round 1 but I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the sweet 16.

In the west it really looks like the only real title contenders are Uconn and Memphis!

All in all, UNC over Louisville in the title game (IF lawson is healthy, that is)

I also would have loved to see what Stephen Curry could have done again this year in the big dance.. At least he got into the little one I guess
