I was/am really impressed with Fran's (Mantis Mayer) man cave he posted in the Bowhunting forum, Mantis' Man Cave so i got to work on my own.

I had the log bar built for some time now but haven't done much else. Well the whole basement was/is to be my winter project so no better time like the present right? This past fall I had a concrete bar top poured and I thought it turned out incredible.

With Mantis' incentive I got to work.

I first bought lumber, the corner surround shower, commode, sink, some electrical and some drywall. My plan is to semi finish the bathroom and then spread into the actual Man Cave/bar area.

If you finish out to look even remotely close to the exterior of your home....this is going to be good.

    That bar top is cool.

Wow, Rob, you work fast! It's looking great! I love the toilet paper holder, lol. Only downside is you're going to lose your indoor range, right? Wait, I think I see how you will be able to shoot down the hallway. Anyways, looks good. I'll have to get down there and check it out in person.

What did you use to tap in the concrete? I just framed up a room in my basement and took advantage of a friend's Heltie Gun...it uses 22 shells to propell the nail in.....pretty freaking cool. I have tapcon'd in the past.

It will look awesome Rob, I have no doubt. Have fun with it.

I'm in the process of re-modeling my "Man-Cave" as we speak, but not in the same sense as you guys.lol

Tying the not in 5 months.... Good news is, She wants the house done in a outdoorsy deer-like theme:cool: . From what it looked like before to what it will look like, should be mind-boggling... for me anyway, having lived in this house ever since I was a baby and nothing being changed until now.

I just HOPE I can find some pictures of what it looked like before we tore the walls out.lol I'm positive I have some, you'll just have to look past the family event taking place.lol

If everything comes together the way I envision it, I will be very pleased... and in debt.

i've been workin on mine as well, just started the frame work, goin slow, to much going on 'bout the house with the kids an all.. when we're done it'll be abot 750ish Sq Ft split into two rooms... each room will be ~21x16ish, one for the pool table and bar the other for entertainment, couches, 42" LCD and etc... when I get some pics i'll post 'em up... sad thing though is that I can't run any electric without conduit, water has to be in copper, etc... kinda makes work go a bit slower and ups the price a bit...

:whip: Rob you're supposed to use treated lumber on the floor, tear it all down and start over. haha

Man I love that bar top!:hail: I'm gonna copy you when I get to mine. My downstairs bathroom is similar but it wasn't pre-planned so we needed a pump system.

I can't wait to see your finished work, it's going to look awesome I'm sure.

Thanks Fran and we are for sure going to have to see each others projects in person.

I was off today so I was able to do alot more. I hung more drywall/sheetrock and all but finished the shower walls/door but damn it all, again, I'm missing pieces. First when starting the assembly I was missing all hardware so off to Lowes and they give me the hardware out of another box. Now I'm missing the rubber moldings/seals for the door and magnets/door hardware so another trip to Lowes. Oh well I'll probably need/pick something else up anyway. LOL

    Here's some update pics.

Not a bad do it yourself project thus far.

Oh and ignore the one electrical wire above the turkey, it's very temporary. I hung it for a temp light in my archery area so I could see.

Oh and the end of the bar, the plywood is temp too. I'm going to stone that. It'll tie in the bar and downstair with the mountain stone fireplace and jacuzzi tub.

I'm bringing the tongue and groove wall from the second and first floor down the wall at the stair to also tie it in. Behind the woodstove will also be tied in with rock.

Someone on HNI mentioned it was good to see me using California corners in the framing. I asked and admit, what's a California Corner?
