ESPN has a pretty good report on the story, I'm sure more is to come. http://espn.go.com/college-football...manti-teo-says-player-played-girlfriend-angle He's looking more and more like a scumbag. Just another NFL diva coming right up.
Like I said before...IF he had anything to do with the hoax I would not draft him with a ten foot pole even if he had more skills than anyone else on the draft board.
I know where you're coming from, but for some reason I don't think this effects his draft position as much as people think. It's a "different" character matter (to say the least). I don't see him as creating locker room problems or off the field issues that are detrimental to an organization. The dude is weird apparantly and this is some twighlight zone kind of thing. But.... if he can perform at the LB position and his skill set is what it is, I don't see why you don't take him. If you're relying on his integrity to fuel his performance than... yeah I can see that. IMO he's still just a athletic piece in a system that didn't lose any skills or will cause any locker room or off field drama.
I hear you NY, BUT will his teammates ever really believe in him? He will be a middle LB and will control the defense....he needs people to believe in him. That being said, I really like his style of play and was an admirer of his throughout his college career.
Important tips everyone should know. http://deadspin.com/5976782/how-to-tell-if-your-friends-girlfriend-is-not-real-a-lesson-from-the-manti-teo-fiasco?tag=manti-te.o
I think this was all a governmental conspiracy to see if dealing with adverse tragedies really can lead an athlete to play beyond his means through inspiration alone. There should be a YouTube video out shortly proving this to be fact.
Someone remind me again why this is national news? I'm supposed to care that some bro I've never met may or may not have lied about having a girlfriend and her dying? Really? In a time when my health insurance costs are rising through the roof, the value of my home is decreasing daily, my taxes continue going up, our national debt is increasing at a rapid pace, and the gub'ment is trying to take away what few rights we stil have left I can assure you that this drama is the last thing I give 2 poops about.
Wooooooooohhh....its the fun police! You gave enough poops to post about it. The guy made national news with his inspirational story. This extended beyond sports. I know plenty of people who watch zero football, but have heard Te'o's heart breaking story. By today's standards, this does qualify as news. How can you not enjoy the unintentional comedy of this? If you haven't been down here recently, go ahead and scroll down through the posts. You will find plenty of threads on the topics you described. Have fun! The water cooloer has something for everyone!
We come to the basement to escape reality and smoke a little. Take that real-life crap somewhere else or I'll turn you in to an administrator for a stern warning. Now, pass me the funyuns....
Don't you have a new mathews bow to test or some other gadget that is awesome? Like the fake tree branch, I need a full report on that baby This is fun thread, it's a little sad, but a lot funny.
If it was an SEC player in the same situation I'm thinking it would of been an imaginary sister, just saying.
"I want to stress, as someone who has probably been as engaged in this as anyone in the past couple of weeks, that nothing about what I have learned has shaken my faith in Manti Te'o one iota," Swarbrick said Wednesday night. Why's ND's AD making this statement? He's got WAY more lose by this than to gain by sticking with Te'o. I'm actually scared to see what else comes of this. Everyone says what a sharp guy Swarbrick is, but he HAS to either know for sure Te'o is clean of this or there's something else.
