Just wanted to see what everyone is using to manage their trail camera photos. Do you have any special software or do you just store them in folders on your computer? If you use software what's your favorite?

Disclaimer: I'm working on a solution to help in the process but was curious to hear what others are using. I haven't found anything that I really like.

I only keep the ones I want and I never store them on my computer. I let photobucket's memory get used up. There have been times that I saw a deer or other animal and thought I might have had an earlier pic of. It's times like that when I wish I could go back and look at older pics.

Usually just folders. I've got pictures from way back when that I likely will never look at again so eventually I'll go and delete anything that's past a couple years old.

I use folders and just label the folders by year, a buck catergory, the hunting ground where the picture was taken and way to make it easy on me

i too just set up folders... ill use what camera is being used and the location for the primary folder, and then i will seperate it by months when i have the camera set up there.

with the folders i can just drag the ones i am keeping, delete the ones i dont keep, and its done.

Yep, each camera has its own folder. Inside each camera folder are more folders for each month.. In the fall, a couple of the hit-lister bucks get their own folders.

Photo bucket but yes, there needs to be a better way
One option I would like is to have photos from different camera put in order by time and date. So I can see where different animals (hogs) are traveling.
Moon phases could be a good option as well.

If your a software programmer I think a quota and preference point reminder and organizer app would be great.

I copy them all off the card and into date/location labeled folders on my computer. Then I go through and delete the ones I don't want. No specific software.

I do get tired of going thru sd cards, 23 cams out and some have 5000-7000 pics on them I am going to lower the sensitivity to low and try and catch up with my homework. I delete almost all but the best bucks anymore they go into folders and then I will move a few into photobucket which is way to slow for me and videos are just like getting my teeth worked on hate em.

Folders by year. The files in the folder are each renamed to either, buck (01), doe (01), etc.

Thanks for all the comments, this has been helpful. I just realized my notices from the forum were going into my spam folder.

I organize my pics by camera, then in that folder year, then by month. Have a little over 22K pics organized that way :tu:

i save all my pics until after hunting season on an external hard drive. i get between 150,000 and 200,000 pics a year. Then when Im mostly shacked up indoors in the winter i go through and delete pictures. I save around 20,000 pics each year. I never have any pics stored on my computer.
