    I let him walk 2 times yesterday morning, when he came in a third I noticed his lower jaw was too short. What do you all think? The gray hair leads me to believe he's no 1.5 year old.

    Short lower jaw is usually seen with piebald deer, Im assuming this wasnt the case with this deer, so im going to say its a sort of genetic defect. From the pictures youve shown us he does not look like an old deer at all

    Thank you, no he did have a small white are on the back of one ear. Not what I would consider piebald though.

    can we get a shot of the molars, I think I can see them in that picture you have labeled "buck teeth" and they dont look anything like they should

    Looks like the permanent premolars just came in. I'm confident that is a yearling.

    I've seen a couple of deer with that overbite where I hunt. We call them 'dork deer' just because they look silly. Not sure if it's genetic or what. They seem to get along fine even with the malformed jaw. Still, if you're going to take out a deer, it might as well be one of them.
