How many liberal speakers have been turned away from speaking at universities?

So, why is that a bad thing? Conversation and opposing views are what makes democracy better than socialism.

They aren't going there to have a conversation. Also, democracy and socialism have really nothing to do with each other. You can have a democracy and still be a socialist country and you can be a socialist country and be dictatorship. Same goes for capitalism.

How can you be so sure of the intent when the speaker is not allowed to show?

I'm confused as to what you think they are doing. They are going to give a speak of opposing view and are being denied and turned away. Should they not be allowed to express the opposing view? I'm forced to watch and hear opposing views all the time, and I'm mature enough to be able to listen in a civil manner. I guess it's too much to expect a liberal to be willing to listen to the opposing view without them imploding.

I don't think Antifa was on Marduk's radar when they booked a gig in NoCal. Can't remember if it was Berk or SF. Yes, their music is offensive to many people, but no more to a socialist than to a conservative Christian fundamentalist. Protesting is fine. Vandalism and violence is not.

Also, promising vandalism and violence if Milo Y or Ann C are allowed to speak is no better than the "outside agitators" argument many Southerners used during the Civil Rights Movement. Mob rule is un-American. The 1st Amendment protects "the thought we hate."

I really want you to reconsider this view of yours, all due respect. If it's not safe for Nazis to march w/o getting their heads bashed in, it's a little less safe for everyone. Counter protest? You betcha. Power to you. But it's not okay for someone to get their head bashed in for being offensive. That's beyond a slippery slope; that's black diamond territory.

Food for thought regarding fascism. One thing I don't necessarily agree with is the hard line of "it's purely leftist". There was a great picture I found years ago that talks about how the extremes of each is is really no different than the other.

You're right it is a slippery slope and it probably isn't healthy. Unfortunately it's going to get worse before it gets better. And I will agree that they should have the right to have their cute little tiki torch parades. That doesn't mean I will feel bad for them if something happens to them.

Or if heaven forbid the masked antifa gets their buts kicked and their masks pulled to expose the fact that they are professors.

Professors, media personalities, etc. The thing that I have found is that those who "demand tolerance" are the least intolerant.

Protesting is fine, it's what's made America the nation that it is. But, when you get certain people rioting under the guise of "protesting" is when it's gone too far. That's when I have no issues of tear gas, bean bags fired at protestors, cops moving in and making arrests for destruction of property and inciting a riot. The media should stop sensationalizing these things (both sides Fox/CNN/MSNBC) and reducing this.

People need to stop with the extremes. The right is pissed when there's a Dem in the House, and the left is violently pissed when there's a Repub in the House. What the common person fails to understand is that the ONLY difference between Dems and Repubs is who's in office.

State of emergency declared here in VA. Eve of last years craziness in Charlottesville. I cannot imagine hating a group of people so bad that I'd be willing to seriously hurt or kill them. Damn. Why cant people behave with honor?

I just read where many of the pro players still kneeling and raising fists during anthem at tonight’s pre season games.

Unbelievable. They are getting paid millions to play a kid’s game and they are angry. WTH

Technically none of them get paid till the regular season starts, you are watching volunteers.

Hell I had a guy glaring at me in the Walmart parking lot the other day because I didn't see him when I was backing out...I guess he thought my goal for the day was to kill someone with my car and go to prison....
