Man if i had to spend another hour in that mosquito infested woods i would probably go crazy!

Man all we need is one good frost and wipe away all those buggers, usually by now i can stand being in the woods, looks like i might have to purchase a therma-cell.

How are the bugs in your area? here the HORRIBLE to say the least.

They weren't too bad this afternoon, I had a lot around me but didn't get bit. I wear a ghillie-type "bug suit", they can't get through. Its way better than having to deal with thermacell stuff, imo.

Its not so bad on my body, but i have a skin type mask, and they love to bite through that.

I hated mosquitos as well until I bought a thermacell. That thing is the ****! I honestly have drifted from using it for much besides turkey hunting just because I have never had TOO terrible of a mosquito problem on stand...but if they ARE bad in an area, I won't go back without the thermacell. That thing really is amazing how well it works!

I have a cell and really have not even had to use it this year. There was 1 evening where the bugs were bad at dark but other than that one here and there. No biggie.

there was only one night that they were not bad and thats because of a good wind, but where one of my stands i have been at, its near a water source and o wind, so its a perfect place for them.....do you think the deer will alter their route just to avoid these areas?

LMAO! I like that attitude. I often wonder why we were blessed with the presence of mosquitos and ticks...without, it would be a (near) perfect world!:D

I have heard so much talk about Thermacell that I bought one a few years back but only used it this year for really the 1st time. I even talked my hunting partner to buy one. Now I don't know if these Md mosquitoes are bionic or what but this unit seems to act like an attractent more than a repellent. They fly right into it instead of away from it. So much so that my partner took his back and said it didn't work. Maybe my pads were just old but his didn't work to his expectations either. So back in the gear bag for mine.

I went yesterday and was masequered with mosquitoes. Everyone here is using the thermacell and they love it. I am off this morning to go buy one. I cannot imagine going through another mosquito ordeal as I did yesterday. They sure had one hell of a meal with me.....:-).........

Read the thread above titled, "Did I buy a lemon?" I just purchased my first Thermacell and I pray it works as good as they say. I don't want to be sitting in a tree announcing my presence clicking the darn thing to get it lit.
