I have been out fishing on the gulf and have always seen the captain throw minnows for chum, today there was a block of chum put out in a bag, holy crap the school of minnows that found it was amazing, followed by fish and the massive shark. It was not 20' great white but it was a 10' and looked like at least 24" in diameter just slowly swam buy my wife and I both saw it and were in awe, definitely need to bring my jon boat down rather than the kayak and wade fishing deal.

Thinking about being lazy tomorrow and just go pond hopping around some strip malls. No one fishes them. Might catch a good one.

I'm usually a finesse fisherman but have been thinking of getting after some aggressive pond bass with a popper or a bait like the Zara spook. That's it...tomorrow about an hr before sundown I'm hitting it aggressive.

We have a bunch of the "borrow ponds" around here. They can definitely be small honey holes. Just have to figure out which ones are public and private which can be cumbersome in itself.

I need to get out fishing, been a few weeks. All the rain here has had the water up and murky. After tomorrow rain diminishes and Thursday at 4:30 on vacation for another 10 days.

Ssdly only have one week left after that, but best part of it is it starts on Nov. 7th!

The Zara spook is great, but I recommend you try the Spro rat. It’s expensive but an amazing lure.
I’ve been catching some GIANT smallmouth with it, among other species.
I’ll post some pics when I get home

Have to run to the walmart to get circle hooks, probably should buck up for an aerator for the shrimp bucket.

Nice. I found that the 30 size is the best. The smaller 25 is cool, but not as buoyant, wants to dive. The 40 is too big and scares fish off I think, unless you're chasing some muskie or big pike.

We burned thru 2 dozen shrimp pretty fast we kayaked not to the reef and our guide was there with clients we caught the mangrove snappers and a snook and a catfish. Kinda feels good we only need a guide for the boat and bait. Headed home and going to fish the Mississippi Friday night with a $15 lure, seems crazy.

Going out tomorrow afternoon with the wife, first trip fishing with the boat not too worried about what we catch as long as we catch fish. Would hate to get skunked and jinx the boat.

Went to my daughters soccer practice and found a little pond. Caught five small largemouth..like 8 to 12 inchers in an hour. Not big but was fun. Legs torn up and probably have poison ivy. Ha[IMG]
