Check out some of the vintage Compound Bows from way back when they first came out. Some made it to market and some were just wild looking prototypes. I remember when the Bear Whitetail II was for sale at K-Mart's and had a mile of cables and pulleys everywhere. Some of my old first ones were the Indian Stalker in rosewood and the Browning Accelerator with a mile deep of clear coat :tu: Interesting sight, brings back memories and reminds us of how Archery has evolved.

Funny thing is I have a bow at home on a hook that looks like the bottom two. My first bow, the Bear Whitetail Hunter.

The 2nd from the bottom picture looks like an Allen. That was my dads 1st compound.

Nothing like having a bow where the cables are actually "cables"!

My first bow was Browning Nomad recurve. Then I saved up some trapping money and bought one of them new-fangled compounds. A brand new Bear Whitetail II.

Up until I got my 2005 bowtech equalizer, I was still shooting a compound that had real cables. (an XI Demon) In fact it confuses me that they call the strings, - cables- on these new bows. :D

Anybody remember changing your string out yourself via those two sided teardrop thingys on the end of the cables? just pull back Bow, have someone slip on the new string, relaxe Bow. Now pull Bow back with new string and have someone slip old string off :tu:
