I thought I'd share what I've been up to for the last three months. I'm so proud of this and tickled with how its coming together so far. My wife and I bought a new home last spring. When we looked at it, there was a one car garage on one end of the house that was used to store the previous owners toys, like motorcycles, etc. I told my wife if we bought the place, that was going to be converted to a man cave for my deer and gear.

Anyway, I had this idea of using old weathered lumber that my uncle had lying around in stacks at his sawmill. I love old barns and the weathering that takes place on wood so I gave it a go. It took a lot of work, cutting the bad stuff out, ripping each board to the same widths, etc., but I'm thrilled with how it looks, especially once I got the deer on there.

I still have a ton of trim to do and install the flooring, but its getting there.

    What do you guys think?

I LOVE that wood!!!! I got a wall in my basement with it but it needs a lot of work. I'll do it someday.

That first wall and ceiling are looking good :) Kidding.

Also explains why you've been more scarce on here.

    Very nice!

I am home shopping currently, and man cave potential is right there on the must have list.

That looks really nice. I do some woodworking and use a lot of barn wood. I completely understand what you mean by all the work that goes into making it look good.
