Have you guys been following this story? I can't believe American news channels aren't covering this more. It is pretty crazy/odd/scary.

It sounds like terrorism is a possibility. There was no distress call, the weather was fine, this was a very modern plane and two men aboard had fake passports.

Its all over Drudge, strange with all the satellite technology we have that the plane hasn't been found yet. Or at least parts of it.

It is strange. It sounds like they are picking up some clues. They found the oil slicks yesterday and potential debris today. They said this is a relatively shallow sea, only about 600 feet deep.

It has been on the news but aside from the facts that it is missing they really don't haven't had much to report yet. Know that it did have 3 americans(2 children and 1 adult). Hope to hear more soon.

Six hour flight, but the plane went missing after two hours
240 passengers (mostly Chinese, four Americans)
It was a veteran pilot, modern plane and great flying conditions
No distress call was made and it was last tracked at a stable 35,000 feet

I've been confused about how many Americans. They keep saying things like "three Americans and an infant." I don't now if that means four Americans, or not?

I don't know if there really is any Facts just yet. What there is a lot of speculation. Mostly stemming from people that manifests are showing should be on the plane, but they are alive an well someplace else.
They are tracing two stollen passports also that may belong to the people referenced above.

All this is probably incorrect and will be explained away....

Can you imagine if this was a plane from North America, though? It would be all we would hear about.

I think the whole story is pretty fascinating and that's why I've been disappointed in the coverage.

Just had a chance to do some reading.

According to CNN....Every lead in the search so far has been false. The oil slick belonged to a barge, there was no door or tail found and the mystery object was also a false lead.

So my question is...how does a plane "vanish"? Aren't the pilots in constant radio communication? Even if a terrorist took over the plane...someone would have said something over the airways.

Also...why are they only looking over the water? Wasn't the intended flight path over land too?

The American media doesn't care about brown people from SE Asia unless they are causing a conflict of interest with US foreign policy or economics.

The American media SHOULD care about Malaysia more... it's the most populous Islamic region in the world, as long as we are being paranoid about national security.

For all I know it was indeed hijacked with unknown intentions - get me outa here or flying bomb scenario.

I heard the debris story this morning also.

The reason they are looking over the water is because the plane is believed to have turned back to where it took off from. I would think that the plane had to of suffered some sort of electrical issue for the pilots to not atleast get out some sort of message terrorist or not.

What I can't believe is with todays level of tracking and radar how in the heck does it just disapear? You would think it would be at the last radar contact point.

They said in the last plane bombing that there was no radio communication to let anyone know what was going on. It just happened.

I think they are only looking over water because they were last reported in the Vietnam airspace, just off the coast.

A modern day jet liner carrying 250+ people that just disappears is an embarrassment to the aviation industry.

I don't know where you turn for news but its been the lead news story on every AMERICAN news outlet (well at least CNN and MSNBC) all weekend.

Of course, the CPAC convention probably sucked up most of your news bandwidth.
