I am interested in learning to make custom bow strings.
Where can I find information on the topic and how costly is it to get started.
    Thanks.

Just keep in mind that there are a lot of things to consider when making your own strings, such as making sure you have the optimum string count for your draw weight/ string material, how many twists to use, etc... Don't want to hurt yourself or your bow. You would have to do some searching, but I have ran across a dvd or two (just looking online) about how to make your own strings....

Honestly, it's not cost effective but it is self reliant and self satisfying.

I make my own strings and have made roughly 100 or so in the past for others through 2 shops. By the time you buy a string jig and materials, your better off just buying strings for yourself for as few times you need to do that for these new bows.

Currently my 06 Allegiance has my own string on it and I'm about to make one for my 82nd.

If you're at all handy you can make your own jig. I made one up by looking at several I found online. I got started from a BCY instructional DVD. It took a few strings to get things figured out but it was worth it.
