I thought of an idea today that I've seen in articles and videos for private land. There are many soy bean and corn fields surrounding the public land I hunt. The deer seem to filter into the fields from many different trails. I am still trying to find time to go watch the fields before dark to see what deer are there, but until then I have two thoughts. first I am hunting with 3 other guys who are all in there first year of bowhunting, or hunting altogether. So I think I can set up guys every 60 to 80 yards on the field edge and get anything coming, or cut a lot of small trees and branches down and make a funnel that moves deer around towards one or two hunters. Has anyone done a lot of work to public land? I am worried that someone else will benefit from this if they find it? Thanks.

Not allowed to cut anything on public land in KY. My buddy thought he wouldn't get caught.... Possum cops are in the least likely places... ;)

Can't cut anything in IL public land either. I'd check your laws before getting to committed to this approach.

If your energetic and have time!!! You could always make use of the fallen tree's and underbrush that's laying around in the bush. Should be lots of that around in the bush. They can't nail you for that? Answer to the other question about public land, that's why it's called public land and it's their for everyone's use. I've actually seen hunters try to kick people off it because there were hunting it 1st. That totaly blew me away. I just shook my head and walked away.
