Ok, here's another pic of this elk looking buck. It's on the same property but quite a ways from where I got the first pic. I'm excited to see him on a different cam because that means he's probably a resident. With such a unique rack, he definitely needs a name. What'd y'all think? Then here's another that might get my attention. He was in the same spot. Blessings.........Pastorjim
Need this to happen this Saturday morning. I am slightly worried about bumping them but I guess if you can't get in there you can't kill'm either.
I'm kinda in a quandary right now. This is the first year I have gotten daylight pictures of the ten and they are mostly in the early morning hours between 6:30 and 8:00. SO I am eager to get in the stand Saturday morning but am starting to second guess myself. I am afraid if I go in I will blow them out of the field. Its really one big 20 acre field but I didn't mow the field and its hilly so I could probably sneak in under the cover of darkness. Again though I think if I don't try I'll never know. No guts no glory right? On a side note I did order a few 10 pound bags of nuts for wildlife (yes there is such a thing) to mix in with the corn. Hopefully that will help keep them coming in till the plots thicken up some.
Id try it. Better try while you still can and he doesn't change his pattern. Circle way around if you have to and the wind is right. Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk
Ok I'm going for it. Zero dark thirty I will be sitting in a pine waiting for daylight on Saturday. Bow is dialed in. I can crank shots in the vitals on the old Glendel with broadheads out to 70 consistently. If I blow it I get a second starter in Virginia the 1st of October. Have not checked cameras but the landowner in Va has been seeing two studs cruzing the fence line. Gotta get up there and get the bale blind put together and staged.
Good luck getting after him! I'm with the others go for it while he is frequenting the area at that time.
I'll be headed out for deer this afternoon. Giving the bear baits a break for the day. It'll be nice being back in the deer stand!!!
Unfortunately no luck. I grid searched the entire 20 acres and walked all the nearby creeks and ponds. No birds were circling in the area either on Sunday. I'll keep looking and check trail cams for him to be sure though.
Sorry to hear that Craig, it's a tough pill to swallow for sure. Hopefully he shows back up on camera and you are able to get another one into him.
Alright guys I am going to sweeten the pot for the team. I will send a care package to the person on the team that gets the most points. It will contain things that will be useful to bowhunters and you can use next season. Nothing like a little competition between friends right? Good luck all!
