Buddy of mine owns some apartment buildings. I help him out with stuff from time to time. He has washer/dryers in the bottom floor for tenants to use. They get bouncing around on the cement floor from time to time. Go back, adjust the legs and level them. Ongoing theme. Looking for ideas on how to keep them in place for good. Was thinking putting some pressure treated lumber under legs (or angle iron). But not sure if they wouldn't just bounce off them either. Almost like they have to be entirely boxed in and tapcon something to the floor? Any ideas?
I think they have to be able to "walk" a little with badly balanced loads so as not to put too much stress on the spindle etc. I think if you fastened them solid to the floor you might create other issues with the units. What about putting them on rubber floor mats. The thicker ones like you can buy for work stations etc. I think it would keep them from moving around much. There may actually be mats made specifically for that purpose?
Never thought of that, sounds like that would help a lot. Dam, this place has the answer to everything.
Unbalanced loads and/or high spin cycle gets ours alot. The little lady tries to put the spin cycle on medium or low. If it is high our washer will dance all over the basement.
