Thank you for your unique perspectives gentlemen. David, that is a really cool story and is awesome that you have had friends for so long. That to me is the spice of life. I am trying to lay roots somewhere so that my children will have deep roots once they get older. But I can say I have learned a lot by being a military brat. I live in my wife's hometown and she knows everyone. Her roots are deep. I am the outsider.....hahaha

Isaiah.....please don't tell anyone that I listen to music this cheesy. :)

I look back on several "friendships" that I let slide away thru time & distance and wish that I hadn't. I see that I am not alone.
Facebook has helped a couple of those, to at least catch up and see how they are doing. I have a couple close friends now, and still stay in reasonable enough contact with my good college buddy but other than that, just a lot of aquaintances that come & go.

It's hard for sure! I have a small group of 4 friends that I'd consider lifers. 3 of them I met in 1st & 2nd grade and the other in 9th grade. I wouldn't trade them for the world. We are all so different. We've lived across the US, and we don't see much of each other these days. I'm the only one that doesn't have a kid or is expecting. Jobs, careers, marriages, school... but through it all they've been there. I love it, I can go two years without seeing them, and we can pickup like we never missed a beat. I've truly been blessed with my brothers!

That's just the way life goes. People come and go over the years for whatever reason. I have 2 or 3 friends that I could easily say will never lose contact with eachother (known them all my life ). But, the others that I currently socialize with or recently have? No clue if I'll even know them 10 years from now. Not going to worry about it either. I'd do anything for them now, but if our roads go different directions someday then it is what it is.... best of luck to ya. I dont' have time to crap let alone chase down friends from high school to say hi.
