I have used both the stinger and the buzzcut (4 blade), and I truely think the buzzcut opens bigger holes. Pros of both heads: amazing penetration, scary sharp out of the package, fly just like field tips, extremely strong. Cons: for both heads, the blood trails just arent what I think they should be given shot placement. If you do some looking around on other boards, that is the common complaint as well.

They're excellent in flight and sharpness but lack strongly in cutting surface and durability. Granted they have a "life time warranty" but I don't necessarily want to shoot 3 deer and send 3 heads back to magnus...

I killed a buck with the 4 blade buzzcuts last season. Blood wasn't anything like a Rage but that was a mute point - the buck died within sight of my stand. I touched up the head with a sharpener and put it back in the quiver. I plan on using them next year.

I've had some break after they passed through the animal and hit the ground but i've also used the some heads for several deer after resharpening. I've never used a broadhead that was completely indestructible so i'm happy with these. I'll continue to use them (regular 2 blade stingers)

I tried the regular stingers this past season....and while they did kill the animals I shot with them, I'll go back to my thunderheads and never stray again.

My main drawbacks were poor blood trails & that I trashed every head.

    "vs. every other head"???

    I don't like it.

    On it's own....it's a good head.

My only issue would be re-sharpening the serrated edge. I'm not versed enough to know how to achieve the level of sharp I'm looking for.

You guys that are having problems with your stingers or buzzcuts not being durable enough, shoot a Magnus II Instead. Twice the strength, I gaurantee It.

Having shot thunderheads for 10 years and stingers/buzzcuts for the last 6, I couldn't disagree more with the above (except the part about the bloodtrails). I broke more blades and bent more tips on the thunderheads without a doubt.

 So you like the stingers better? I preferred the thunderheads. In my experiences, it takes a LOT to bend, let alone break a T-head blade, and the points/ferrules stood up to bone very well, rarely ever bending or dulling.

I had issues with the thunderhead blades breaking in the back quite often and once in a while the tip would bend over just slightly. For me the stingers/buzzcuts are a stronger head overall. Thunderheads are the clear winner on bloodtrails.

I've shot alot of broadheads and i believe that all are suitable if the shot placement is chosen in a soft vital area that being said there is no perfect broadhead or perfect hunters so we as hunters will fail time to time the same as our equipment the only broadheads that i truly believe is trash is those cheap allen broadheads but even they will get the job done if time is put into the equipment and the shot we as hunters owe it to ourselves and the animal to take our time to ensure our equipment and shot placement is correct for a clean humane kill but that always doesnt happen but thats apart of hunting we are forced to accept when it happens
