Pro's: Penetration is very good. For low poundage or older bows they are good choice. They are easy to tune and fly great. Lifetime replacement warranty. Reasonably priced. Con's: There have been some complaints about weak blood trails. If you put the BH in the boiler room they will kill deer as dead as any other broad head. They likely won't give you as much fudge factor on bad hits as some other heads.
I can't speak from personal experience, but I just bought a pack to use during my hog hunting trip. They came highly recommended from a guy I trust at the archery shop. He said he recommended them to another guy for hog hunting. He took them and had clean pass throughs on all three hogs he killed. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
No cons imo if you use the bleeders (4 blade) Weak blood trail if you don't sent from my samsung note 2
Pros: Strong, tough, fly great, you'll almost always get pass throughs, as reliable of a head as you'll find. Cons: Weak blood trail even with bleeder blades, that said, every deer I shot with them died in sight
Good head for the money, tough, great warranty and great flight. However, weak blood trails happen from time to time.
I don't underatand the weak blood trail talk with a 4 blade. No issues for me and I tracked my son's liver hit deer for 300 yards this year with no issues. We do use the buzzcuts and maybe that helps. 2 blade, yes, blood trail sucks. sent from my samsung note 2
Thanks for all the input guys! still up in the air on buying the magnus buzz cuts or the g5 striker smh
The Magnus is a much better constructed head. Plenty of blood with the bleeders. Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
I disagree if hit in the vitals 2 blade Magnus Stingers or Buzzcuts lay a huge blood trail down on the ground. Penetration is amazing with 2 blade broadheads also but most any wicked sharp broadhead will do for deer.
Penetration is also awesome with the bleeders. My son has great results from 40# bows. His first deer was shot (double lung)with a 2 blade stinger and the arrow passed through and stuck in tree, however, there was almost no blood to track it. I did see where it went and we walked straight to it but there was almost no blood. 4 blade trails have been great and the only one that needed to be blood trailed was his buck this year. 4 blade 58# @ 28" draw length Exit 4 blade , 39# bow @24" draw length Exit 2 blade 40# @ 23" draw length Entrance Exit of above deer 4 blade from 39# @24"draw length Notice splatter sent from my samsung note 2
Have is said it yet that I love the way these things perform:D I'm going to be using my 150 gr buzzcuts this coming season. sent from my samsung note 2
If interested, here is the original thread of my sons first bowkill with video using the 2 blade stingers. http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/bow...nected-updated-video-part-1-now-part-2-a.html
How about nap hellrazors. Im shooting lighter pounded (50lbs 26 inch draw) I am thinking cut on contact is best for penetration. And I like fixed heads. I may try these or the Magnus
How about the new killzone low KE? Should I just stick with a trusty fixed blade. I know that you shouldn't use a mech. With low poundage but I just wanted to know. I may just stick with my thunderhead edge's
My opinion would be that you are a prime candidate for the Magnus buzzcut 4 blade. IMO,it will penetrate better than the 3 blade hellrazor due to having less cutting surface but I have not used the Hellrazor. But I think ANYONE is a prime candidate for the Buzzcuts.
My opinion is to stay away from that style head. As you can see from my posts,it is not needed, especially from lighter setups.
Ill be shooting the hell razors and the ST razortricks this fall. Maybe ill be able to narrow it down to just one that i like more.
