D&DH is going to be tough to be content wise and photo wise. However, if you are dead set on subscribing to another publication, I would strong suggest Quality Whitetails by the QDMA. Great info. packed from cover to cover in that magazine.

    Also, this! :tu:

D&DH is about as good as it gets but I have also heard that QDMA has a pretty good magazine.

EDIT: We posted about the same time Cody

The best of the best of every thing, it's out of Saskatchewan and he's the best photographer in the Deer industry. Story's are the best "bar none". The great thing about this magazine is it has all the best deer in North America,it doesn't single out just American Deer ,or Canadian deer . This is what I like so much about it. Rob goes out of his way to get the whole story and the person's word of the Hunt. Check it out.

If you are open to something outside of whitetails - I have found Eastman's Bowhunting Journal to be fantastic. Great read as stories are written by the hunter themselves with great pics and a recap of all the gear they used on the hunt. Really opens your eyes to what all else is out there to hunt and how great it is to "free chase" animals on large parcels of wilderness. Also include gear review, tech article, and an MRS (members research section) to help with deciding where to go and how to draw for any tags you may want someday.

I did the NA Whitetail, Deer Hunting, BuckMasters and others for many years...they just don't keep my interest anymore...there's only so many ways you can write an article on how to hunt a funnel, scrapes, rubs, staging areas, etc...

I agree with Cody and Farley on this one - D&DH and QDMA/Quality Whitetails are about the only two I care to read anymore. I get the rest of my info by talking to other bowhunters online. :tu:

Since you are from Wisconsin I highly recommend Wisconsin Outdoor News Newspaper. It's twice and month and has great local content. I read that thing cover to cover every two weeks.

Eastmans Bowhunting Journal and Bowhunter Mag are my two favorites....

I used to really like Deer & Deer Hunting but it seems like the same old stuff to me now, so I am letting my subscription run out.

D&DH and GON (Georgia Outdoor News) are the only 2 I subscribe to now.

I used to read hunting magazines until I kept seeing the same articles being written over and over with a slight twist. I am not kidding, I would see the same darn articles written in all the magazines. I would rather read opinions, strategies, and tactics written from guys on here and other websites. It keeps the info fresh and most of the time people are not trying to make money from their postings so I know they are speaking what they believe to be true.

Born2Hunt...as far as I know, the only way to subscribe to Quality Whitetails Magazine is to actually become a member of the QDMA. It costs $30 for the year and it's a real easy online signup...www.qdma.com
