Live in Tewksbury, go to school in Westfield so I do most of my hunting in the zones around there. Any guys who own farms or know farm owners who would let me hunt on their property in exchange for work let me know

I've been so busy with paramedic school I completely missed doe permitting and was forced to neglect the woods for awhile but now that I'm done I got the chance to get back out there and I was very happy at what i found, the biggest 7 point buck I've seen. Getting very excited for this season! He has a few smaller buddies that I'd be happy to take as well

I'm over in Zone 10 Merrimac Valley, first year bow hunting. I've looked at some management areas but I'm gonna be spending most of my time on my 10 acres. It's mostly wetlands and just wondering if any ones hunted the area and had any tips for me. Thanks and good luck

Well, fellow MassHoles.... any luck this season? Let's see em. This is the only one I was able to take in MA during archery...
My daughter took a nice 8 as well on the youth hunt.

I thought the system was down? Got an email yesterday saying it was down at the moment so permits weren't yet available?

Also did you see over 6k surplus permits will be available in zone 11 alone? A ton of zones had 100% successful draw rates for antlerless permits

I went on first thing AM on 8/1 and got mine. A few of my friends did as well. Then, from what I'm told, the system went down and continues to be down.

I cannot believe the number of surplus tags out that way. Almost make me want to try to find a spot to go do some meat hunting this year! I just don't know anyone well enough out that way...

Newbie to this forum, Typically hunt central mass and northern CT

Hoping to take advantage of the longer mass season in the eastern zones. Would love to find about some decent public land spots out in those zones

I live in and hunt zone 11 pretty much exclusively. Pretty much all I hunt is public. Sometimes I swear to you there are more people in those woods than deer. Last season I saw one deer, a doe I kicked up on my way in. It can be a real grind here most of the time.

I've had seasons like that out here in the Berkshires. I definitely do not see many deer out here.

some spots hold a lot of deer. the big mountain spots don't.. esp the farther north you go. the hunting does get better the further south in Berkshire you go.

I really want to head to the Vineyard or Nantucket because the hunting there is supposed to be great but I hear the public land there gets slammed. I only live like 10min from the ferry too but I have never made the trip to hunt, although I have friends who live year round on the Vineyard

I spoke to a bunch of guys who said you have to have an in on private spots. They were killing deer next to tennis courts etc. they knew some cops and fire men who hooked them up. They Stacked them up.
