Anyone here have anything bad to say about it? I just sold my top Sit/Climb Section and am going to buy the handclimber instead. I really did not care for the Sit/Climb setup for the LW. At first I thought I did, but I think my old Viper is way more comfy than the LW for Sit/Climb scenarios. I want the handclimber for long hauls this season.

So anyone got any reviews, comments, tips, Etc.?

I took my hand climber on several four mile-plus hikes through the Colorado mountains... absolute dream to pack and carry.

I had a Summit Viper and sold it. Too noisy installing the cables and too bulky. I love my Lone Wolf Hand climber. Nice and open, with a solid platform seat, and not "sunk" down in a sling seat. The hand Climber is meant for a bow hunter. Packs super compact too and is very quiet.

I think you need strong abs for the handclimber and not everyone has them. HC if you are in the shape you weer in when I met you in Iowa a couple of years ago it should not be an issue but father time can be cruel.

I would love to have one of these but for the price, it would need to climb a tree like a squirrels ass on fire all on its own!

I did not like the way it packed with the stand. (Seat too loose and noisy)
I did not like the seat when moving around. (Too noisy material)
I did not like the bar that folds under you. (Makes no sense for this type climber. My bar on my Summit never gets in my way and is much more comfortable to climb with. imo)
I did not like the way it sat so close to the tree. (Not comfortable at all for long sits.)

The hand climber is lighter. It is less bulky to pack. I can use it for short sits. (Or long, if need be) I would just as soon climb with the hand climber as that is the way I used the Sit/Climb anyway, due to the goofy folding bar. These are all the reasons I can find for now.

Yes, and it was just a pain in the butt.

    I did.

I did not like the bar going up or coming down. I experimented both ways. (And others)

I had mine set up identical to this. Still did not like the way it sat as compared to my summit. The Handclimber, as I stated above will be my go to stand for long hauls in thick stuff, and shorter sits. I have the Ultimate Viper Seat on my Summit and it is the cat's azz for all day sits. I stand alot too, but on all day sits, I like the capability of having that easy chair to sit back in.

[QUOTEthe LW line is NOT the choice for them.
    ][/QUOTE]

I agree to an extent. The Sit/Climb is bearable but not what I would call comfortable. I can get by for a while standing on a tree limb, but I would rather have more options.

I have used my LW hand climber for about 4 yrs. now and still love it. The new hand climbers come with a strap so you can actually use it as a sit and climb but I have not had any problems using it as a hand climber. I do sit all day in this stand often. The newer seats are suppose to be a little more comfortable but even though mine is not very comfortable it is not a problem to stay from sun up to sun down. It packs so easy I don't even have to fold it down.

If you are in decent shape, and climb properly with the Hand Climber, I honestly don't see how people have a hard time climbing with it. You don't need to make 2 foot lifts.

I actually found it fun to climb with because you can control everything so easily. The weigtht is the greatest thing about it.

Too bad they cost like $9,000.00 now. That is an inexpensive stand for them to produce, they're just taking advantage at this point.
