Well now the collective has made me think I need to add a mobile hang on to my collection. Looking at LW again and debating between the Alpha and Assault. What are your thoughts on the better stand for bowhunting? The roomier platform of the Alpha or the lighter weight of the assault? Which would you recommend and why?

The Alpha has my vote. You will enjoy the larger platform and there isn't all that much of a weight difference. Strike that and go with the assault if you are a mobile hunter and have long walks in/out.

I chose the Alpha because I enjoy a larger platform. I'm sure if I was hiking miles in and out the extra weight might make a difference, but I'm a pretty big guy.

I have an Alpha hand climber for the bigger platform. But I'm also a smaller dude size 8 1/2 boot and the Assault hang on is plenty for me, especially for a run and gun mobile set up. It's all preference though and to each is own. Have to admit since my climber came last week I have been loving that alpha platform. Already thinking of adding another alpha hang on to the arsenal lol

I am a bigger guy (6'4, 200 lb, size 13 boots). Is the platform going to be too small if I get the assault, and is the assault as adjustable as the alpha?

I'm 6'2", 235 w. a size 12, and didn't feel like the assault was big enough for me. I could deal with it if I had to, but for $10 more I just went ahead and got the Alpha.

Alpha for sure. I like the bigger platform and carry mine in and out. They are the same stand, just one platform is bigger than the other and the assault is lighter, not by much though.

I went with the Alpha and wish I sent with the Assault. Only for the reason of very long walks in and out. In situation when walking 1.5 - 2 miles in...every pound counts on my back and shoulders. You have to remember that you will be packing climbing sticks on top of the stand weight. It all adds up. If weight is no object, I would go Alpha.

This is a easy problem to solve order one of each(JK). I have the Assualt becasue it was lighter but being 5'11 and about 200 pounds i really wish i would've bought the Alpha. So i'm now starting to save all my pennies and hopefully will be the proud owner of a new Alpha next season. So if your a bigger guy go Alpha if your a smaller guy go with the Assualt

Now that the seats are the same size, I don't think it really matters that much. I don't have any issues with the platform size of the assault, but mine is the older one with the smaller seat. I may end up getting a seat kit for mine. Most of the size difference platform wise is towards the tree side anyways.

    FYI, I'm 6'2" 205# & size 12 shoe.

100% it's gonna be too small. I had the same dilemma. 6'5 240 and the alpha gives me a little more room and ease of mind.

I'd say for your size you would want the Alpha.

I'm 6'-1" and 180, and I went with the Assault purely for weight saving purposes.

If it were any smaller at all, I'd have gone with the Alpha.

Are the comfort seats still on backorder?
