Oct 1st for me. Just got done moving a stand. 100 degree heat index here. That was not fun but with rain tomorrow I needed to get it done.

Our first day up here in sodak is the 24th of sept. I do not remember if I had said it before but I hunt pretty much only public land. Anyway, kinda had a negative turn of events here. So on the 21st of august was our first day to put up cameras (from coming up to school) , and in four days we got around 20 pictures of some nice deer, then on the 25th we had a bit of a surprise on the camera. Needless to say when we walked up to the camera and there was a treestand on the same tree we were not exactly happy lol. Anyway, have to find a new spot again. I'll try and link a couple pictures.

    Us setting it up

I understand it is perfectly legal, but ethically I would never do that to someone. It just is upsetting that someone would put a treestand on the same tree as the camera, oh well though. Live and learn.

Oct 1st for me, but too hot to do much work. Did some clean-up at deer camp a few weeks ago, but even that turned into pizza and few natties after a few hours. A break from the heat would be very welcomed!

Thankfully we put locks on the cameras so they can't be accessed at all unless by key or I guess angle grinder lol.

    Wow sorry about your luck.

The rotten side of me would use their ladder stand to set up a lock-on right above their head rest. Fairs fair right? Just kidding but it's a shame that's how sportsman treat another hunter.

Wondering how they approached the tree without having their pic snapped?

There was a bunch of pictures of them putting the treestand up, I just figured I wouldn't include them all, as they are a bit boring haha

This is not all bad. You now know there are buck in the area. You know where the other hunter is. They did not steal your camera...so they might be ethical...and you can now work around them. Heck. Maybe meet them and they will say...you had that camera....you can hunt my stand anytime you want :)

I wish lol, I drove around to see what deer were around the property I hunt. So far I've only seen one buck in the field. My property is all corn near that picture.the deer run drainage ditches along the property, lucky for me it's the last area that gets cut.

Your video equipment looks awesome. I lug so much stuff with me that....I could never do that. Maybe it's more the fact that, I don't get many chances at deer so, no way am I chancing it with a camera. I admire the folks like you who do film.

I lug quite a bit in addition to the camera stuff. the weight isnt the real issue, its hard to find a reasonably priced pack to carry everything in while being attached to a climber.

Just scouted new state land, LITERALLY almost stepped on a deer and jumped one other. Not 50 yards from the parking lot. Its definitely a good looking spot!
