You have to be drawn for a tag to bowhunt turkey? Wow. I'm assuming plenty of turkeys in Illinois just like Iowa.

Season starts April 18th here. Boy is due the 17th. I'll get out a couple of times though. Hoping for good year of morels. We keep getting rain so the moisture should be there for them to do well.

Turkey opens up here on the 9th. Plan on going but it will be public land unfortunately. Nothing I'm not familiar with though, just my first turkey season here.

Hey guys hope everything is going well for you. I started a thread but thought I would share a couple of pictures of my two bucks from last season. They are both hanging on my wall now!

The guy on the left is my big ole boy from this year. I got him in an aggressive upright pose.

This was in a full sneak pose.

Any turkeys hitting the dirt? Got out last night with turkeys all around me. Then tractor comes back with anhydrous. Trying again this morning.

Limited on time. Our son came along April 14th. Hunting success seems like a minor detail now. Need to find some morels for in laws visiting from Michigan this morning.

Hope everyone is doing well and growing big bucks for the fall.

So what is everyone up to these days? Mushroom hunting has been a flop in my neck of the woods this year. No one is really finding any.

Only been out twice for birds. Same for morels. I'm 0-2 for turkeys. Should have shot a Jake. I've found 6 morels each time out.

Hoping to get out tomorrow and the weekend. Morels should be up in my good spots.

Been a good spring. Had our first kid which was a boy April 14th. Everyone was healthy and recovered well. A whole new world and very exciting. Named Henry after my great grandpa who bought our home farm where we hunt. We planted a white swamp oak for Henry on Mother's Day at the farm.

Been hard to get out early for mornings after not sleeping all night.

Hope everyone has a good spring and summer. Fall will be here before we know it.
