Lots of good pics on here. This competition starting is getting me more amped up for deer hunting. Going to try to return camera to cabelas today instead of going through big game treestands and get it out tonight.

Hopefully we are good at killing and not just taking pictures. Looks like we have some good opportunities.

Hey guys! Normally I have jumped on the team thread and posted a ton, but work seems to be getting in the way of that this year.

    A little about myself...

My name is Justin and I am from Central Illinois. I am fortunate enough to hunt in four different counties and have some great locations to hunt.

I am 30, married, with a 7 month old at home. This will be my first season with my little guy.

I oversee Marketing and Customer Service efforts for an electric cooperative in Illinois.

I have been bowhunting for 12 years and it is my passion.

If Sam wants to be the captain then I am good with that as well!

I came in second 2 years ago on this contest and would love to finish number 1 this year!

I guess I'll give a little background of myself as well. I'm Derrick. I'm 30 and I moved to NC over the summer from GA. I've been hunting for the last 15 years or so, but I've been strictly bow hunting for the past 10. I have had many mishaps on some nice deer in those 10 years. I managed to get my first bow buck last season in GA. He was a young deer, but I was hunting public land and couldn't be more proud. I got into traditional archery last year as well and almost got a chance on a doe with my self bow and arrows. I will be switching between it and my compound throughout this season. I'm hoping to have some decent luck hunting a new state. I will also be making a trip or two back to GA to get on some of the deer I was after last season.

I'm good with Sam being captain too. I know I'm ready for Sept. 12th to get here!

Whoa you guys were awake way too early in the morning lol. I was soaking up my sleep before my baby woke me up! :)

Went out squirrel hunting last night just so I could walk around the woods. Managed to pop two tree rats!

So when does everybody elses season start? It starts September 1st here in Nebraska. I'm pretty excited to get out and chase after my #1 that I call Special Ed! I would love to see him with velvet! I'll be out every evening for at least the first week or so trying to get him!

Funky looking deer. Good luck with that deer and getting him in velvet. Would look cool in velvet or without.

Season starts Oct 1 in Iowa. Sept 1 is coming fast.

man I sure hope that deer's daylight pattern holds up for you! he would be an awesome quick score for us! either sex season doesn't start till Oct. 1st here. I believe we have an early doe season in mid September, need to read the rules for this year. it seems to change yearly.

That is a nice buck! I'm really considering taking my longbow on the opener, but I don't want to bring the team down.

Oh nice! Where abouts are you hunting? Do you have some private land you're hunting or is it a public land trip?
