Did two skull mounts last season. Boiled them in a big pot with antler out of water. Look great.

I really wish the scorecard would be updated. Actually wondering if something is wrong since it has been so long. Maybe having some issues outside of the website.

Thought I would share a couple photos... Santa was good to me this year and I bought a second much larger safe to house some of my valuables. Barely fits in its spot.

Also just got back my nice crappie that I caught this past summer. Thought my guy did a good job on it!

No bucks. Was going to shoot a doe if I got a chance at a nice size one. Got a chance, but was waiting to see what else came out. Dog across the highway started fighting with something and spooked the deer. They eventually came back, but it was after legal shooting time.

Thanks for the info about the skull mount guys. What do you put in the water when boiling? I have also heard about burying them. How long does that process normally take? I would assume either way is a lot faster if you take the hide off and as much meat as possible

I put some borax and dawn dish soap in with the water. Helps break up the peices of flesh still on the skull.

I think this helps to take the grease off. You can whiten with stuff from a salon that is a strong peroxide. The link below is a pretty good tutorial on doing it yourself with a list of things needed and some pictures.

When I've buried the heads, I'm left them all summer and dig up before fall. They are completely clean. Didn't cut off anything of the skull. I'm also heard of people putting in ponds to do the same thing. Tie something that floats to it and put in a pond. That will clean it up too.

My dad found on gravel road today. Not good to see when still trying to hunt for a buck.

I ditched work and I'm sitting in bale blind hoping for antlers. Storm coming might get him up early.

Bottom of the 9th for me. Looking at an 0-2 count and hoping for a home run or just a double this weekend. High of 5 Sunday. Winds are favorable. Last weekend to deer hunt.

I'm also going to be smoking with 4 smokers starting tonight. Should finish 140 pounds of meat. Sticks, Summer sausage, kielbasa, brats, etc. I'll share pictures. My dad, buddy and his dad's meat to make. Got a really cool 3D shoot to go to tonight also. Good weekend ahead. My jeep is loaded up with no room to spare.

I looked at some other threads. Someone on another team tallied the points and we were in 2nd. Get these added and we should be in first.

***So, out of boredom, I looked over the entire scorecard. Including entries that were (or are) missing information, we still lead, with a total of 958 1/8. Team 20 would be in second with 923 3/4 and Team 17 would be in third with 923. There were a large quantity of quality deer harvested this year!***

This was taken from team 16 thread who is in the lead. I'm not sure if he checked our thread and counted yours or not.

I believe the calculation above may have counted the buck updated from earlier. Not sure. Hard to keep track of.

Got my elk back and made a bunch of meat this weekend. Deer were out Sunday, but I didn't go out because I didn't want to take care of deer in 0 degree weather.

Long weekend of smoking meat. Not all was smoked. Stuffed 150 pounds of meat though.

    Anybody still hunting?

When I looked through the scorecard, I counted every deer with a score on the thread, entered or not. That way, if the hunter updated it to the requirements, it would have been counted.

Let's get all the deer posted to the scorecard. ..I'd like to be on your guys team for this year again ..we have a great team and hate to see it split because we didn't put all the deer that we got into the scorecard! Heck we may even get some nice prizes for winning! !
