well guys he popped out at 80 yards tonight, fed in plot for final fifteen minutes of light didnt come any closer. tonight was my best sit of the year, lots of doe's some chasing. Same wind tomorrow evening, will be back after him! could take the muzzleloader and be done, but I want him with my bow!

He is super wide. We have our muzzleloader season this weekend. so I finally get to get back in a tree and shoot a doe. I have never killed on with a muzzleloader so I am excited to try.

Had a group of does come through this morning. Was temped to take one with the recurve since I've never taken a deer with it. Decided to let them walk since they were younger does. I was hoping they would have a buck behind them, but that wasn't the case. Came home for some lunch and about to head back out for the evening.

Went out with the recurve this morning. I have never taken a deer with it. I went out with the intentions of shooting whatever presented a shot. Right at first light I was given an opportunity to take a deer at 5yds. It was a young buck that I've got on the trail cam. As I grabbed my bow and went to draw, I had a moment. I thought to myself if I won't take it with my compound, I won't take it with my recurve. I just watched him go about his business and got a laugh out of this young buck. He was browsing and a couple of small birds landed in a sapling right over his head. He thought he was done for apparently. He bounded off about 15yds and stopped to look and then disappeared. About 20 minutes later I watched one of the many button bucks wander through. That was all I had seen this morning, but I felt good knowing I didn't shoot him. I'm sure he will become a worthy trophy one day.

Here is the big 3 point buck that came in. Old pic, but he's still alive.

Well I decided to go again before work this morning. Had Does, fawns, and small bucks everywhere. Finally connected with my '71 Bear Kodiak Magnum. Took this 5 1/2 year old nanny doe at 10ft. She walked right under me and I dropped her where she stood.

Look who was there right before I shot that doe yesterday. Kind of glad I didn't know. Would have hated to make a bad shot on this guy.

Back at it again this morning. Already had 3 does right under me. It's real foggy and very similar to the conditions on Wed other than the temp is about 10 degrees warmer. Passing on everything but my target buck.

Good luck with the buck. Going out shotgun hunting. Might be fun. We will have around 8 guys. Other years we have had over 20 and it is too much of a circus.
