Also checked the trail cam that I put a fresh card in yesterday on my way out. Over 70 pictures and I finally have something with antler worth shooting. He's not massive, but I'm really diggin the split brow.

Thanks guys. I used my first mechanical head this morning on it. Was very impressed with the way it performed.

Entry hole. No exit due to off shoulder.

I like the mechanical heads. 2 blade? Looks like a perfect hit. What broadhead you using? I like the killzone 2 blade. Seen some massive holes from 3 blade mechanical broadheads too. I've used g5 t3's also. Work well. I like the big cut with 2 inch 2 blade better though.

These were the killzone 2 blade. I bought those and the spitfire maxx to try out. I also have a pack of the 2 blade rages that I haven't even opened.

Buddy shot this today. I didn't see much. Jumped a decent buck up near my stand on the way in. I think our small area has been over hunted by me too much.

Was out with my gun this weekend and tagged my second stud buck for the season! My first time tagging out on bucks, let alone two wall hangers! I know it's not with a bow but it was in bow range...15 yards with the 30-06! Heart shot and watched him roll up after running 40 yards! Shot a big doe 10 minutes before him at first light. I know it doesn't help us in our contest but just wanted to share. I've been out hunting hard over the last month with the bow and hadn't had anything but fawns and young bucks come in bow range. But this weekend was like the switch went off in them and I was seeing chasing and lots of deer on there feet! I wish it would of happened a couple weeks ago when I had a bow in hand but still glad I was out to see the show. Gonna be working and doing projects around the house for the next couple weeks but I'll get out for some late season doe bowhunting in December. Gotta try to get that late 50 points to seal us the win! Good luck out there guys!

What a stud! Would love to have something like that show up in the morning.

Well guys my wife got it done tonight on my number 1 buck. Didn't have a sitter so we took all four kids to the blind with us. She made a perfect double lung shot at 150 yards with my boys .308. he went about 70 yards. was an awesome hunt! only thing that disappoints me is I got down there and had forgot the video camera! lol oh well! here he is 9 pt 18 3/8 inside spread. I believe him to be 5.5 years old have had pictures of him for three years. He came running in with a 3.5 yr old 8 and a 1.5 yr old 7 pt in tow chasing a doe. got by her in food plot number 1, shot him sneaking through the brush in shooting lane following the doe. was awesome! Well I pulled the trail cam card again this morning on my way out. Had over 70 pics last night. It seems the albino buck is still alive and well. I hadn't seen him or got him on cam since the gun opener and it had me worried. The split brow buck has also been hanging out there too. Most activity is a night due to the full moon I believe. I do think that it is just now starting to get good down here though.

One of my favorite pics from last night. The albino buck and another small buck going at it.

Wanted to take a minute and say Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Hope you have a blessed weekend! I am thankful I live in a Nation that abounds with public lands and a rich hunting heritage! Back story my great grand father is from Czechoslovakia, as a young man he was caught hunting the Kings land in an attempt to feed his starving family. He was branded on his forearm marking him as a criminal and sent to america. He never saw his family again. Crazy, So when you go afield to pursue game, do it with gratefulness of heart that we live in a land of freedom! Happy Thanksgiving!

That puts a different perspective on things. A lot of people take most things for granted. Appreciation for running water and toilets aren't my normal thoughts until I go hunting for over a week without them. Ha. Have a good thanksgiving everyone. I'll be up early in the morning trying to let an arrow fly.

Shot at a nice buck. Pretty sure I missed and went over its back. Thought it was 35 and it was 30. Pin set at 30. Aimed a little high and must have pulled it high or he ducked it.

Waiting til dark to go get the arrow. Lighted nocks are helpful. Shot bow before hunting and it was on. Either operator error or deer ninja. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it went high. Shot was rushed and I had to stop him so he was alert.

Found arrow. No blood. He was at 35 yards. Not a bad hit so I can be thankful for that. Saw a lot of deer tonight. Probably busiest sit of all year.

It sucks you missed, but it's also a good thing. At least he lives for another days encounter. Most of the activity where I hunt is at night. Hopefully these clouds will block most of the moonlight. I have quite a few trail cam pics of bucks going at it. Maybe I'll see some action in the morning. Good luck to everyone still at it.

Slow morning. Nothing happened. Good night tonight. Saw 5 bucks and heard another grunting. 2 mature deer were fighting and I could watch. Around 100 yards away and working towards me until someone started shooting in neighbors. Maybe squirrel hunting with shotgun? Hard to tell.

Then after that started someone within a couple miles started shooting and put out over a 100 rounds easily. The bucks got spooked from initial gun shots and headed away from me.

Still fun to see even though we always want to control what our neighbors are doing. Nobody doing anything wrong.
