I don't believe all points are accounted for. Still have that buck that needs added also.

Good day hunting. Got out to farm around 2:30. Saw a buck cruising in middle of the field. Then noticed a doe and a shooter 50 yards from our building. I had to drive in and busted them out.

Walked back to stand and walked long way to keep wind in face. Get to the opposite side of draw where my stand is located. Jump up a buck and a doe. The doe ran away. The buck stopped and ran back into the draw towards me. I nocked an arrow and thought this would be an interesting story if he ran out towards me and I shoot him. He was a good buck. Not sure how good because of all the brush.

After kneeling down for 5 minutes with a stare off. I tried grunting with my mouth. I sounded like a drunk moose. It worked. He snort weezed at me. First time I've heard that in timber. After that a doe jumped up that was bedded down and everything made sense. She ran away. He chased her and almost chased her back to me. I got to see them run over the ridge. He was probably worth shooting.

Saw a few deer the rest of the afternoon. Nothing big. Saw a couple white tails chasing in timber. Didn't call until 20 minutes left of shooting time. I had heard deer in the timber and thought they should be moving my way. I rattled. Nothing. 10 minutes later I hear what I think is two big bucks fighting probably less than 100 yards in timber, but I couldn't see. They weren't small deer. Nothing did come out, but hopefully they will be there tomorrow. I've arranged to take tomorrow off and sit in that stand all day.

Also got within 50 yards of 8 point walking out. Small length, but nice and wide. Fun day in the woods.

Get out in the woods if you can. Fun time of year. Good luck out there.

Your post makes me want to be out in the woods. I took this Friday off to hopefully spend the entire day in the woods. We will see how much action I have to keep me occupied.

5 bucks this morning. Almost shot one. Was drawn back and brush was in the way. He wasn't big. I've passed him a few times.

Got a chance to go Iowa game this Saturday night. Undefeated and going for 10-0. Never happened before. This has my deer standards lower.

Heard grunting and fighting again in same timber this morning. Had a coyote come through. Stood to shoot to my right. Stand made noise. That is now fixed.

Looks like we got 2 bucks and a doe not counted yet. White cotton buck. Born to hunt doe was added after Nov 1. Then LSU buck also. Missing any others? Middle of the day boredom.

Neighbors were also in the woods talking as loud as possible. Always makes me mad, but it isn't my land. Wasn't intentional in anyway. During the rut the woods are for hunting. Come on. Maybe marking trees. Gone now. Back to hunting.

My hunting buddy shot a 140 inch 8 point last night. Said the bucks are really dogging the does right now in central Ilinois. It is the time to be in the woods!

No game for me. Chasing the elusive whitetail buck all weekend. I heard over 36,000 are expected for the wrestling match. My wife is from Michigan. I tell her family that Michigan's starting QB is Iowa's leftover. Rudock is actually a pretty good student athlete. Not bad to be starting QB in big ten for two different teams and be pre-med. His future is bright outside the football field.
